What is this place that I have found? | OPEN
Who: Kid!Carlos
Where: The kitchen, library, hallways… or anywhere else!
When: December 12 – 14
Rating: G
Summary: Three-year-old Carlos shenanigans.
Carlos has made a habit of examining the food he finds in the tea rooms, because food that suddenly appears out of nowhere has to have some special properties, doesn’t it? After looking at several samples over a few months though, Carlos has become fairly sure that actually eating the food causes no illness or side effects.
He feels pretty comfortable in that assumption until snacking on a festive holiday cookie shrinks him down to an incredibly curious three-year-old with no idea what the words ‘theoretical physics’ mean, but with a healthy appreciation for seeing what happens when you break something open or mix two bubbly things together. That's why it’s probably best that he wandered out of his lab early on in the event.
THE KITCHEN
Mama hasn’t let Carlos in her kitchen after the Thanksgivig debacle, so it’s with a kind of rebellious excitement that he makes himself right at home inside of the first one he sees. You can find Carlos swathed in an adult-sized lab coat on top of a mini-mountain made up of pots, pans, oven mitts and whatever else he could find. The goal seems to be getting tall enough to reach the top of the stove, and he’s aaaalmost there if he gets on his tiptoes.
Anyone walking onto the scene will be greeted with a smile (showing off teeth that are not yet straight and orderly as a military cemetery, but which actually appear to be too big for his mouth) and the words: “On please!” With plenty of gesturing with one floppy, too-long jacket sleeve.
THE LIBRARY
Carlos likes books. He can’t read most things yet, but he still understands the basic concept of what a book is. There’s things hidden inside of them, things that adults can seem to unlock that he doesn’t quite have the knack for yet. Books are secret places, and Carlos likes secrets. He’s used to being read to by someone else, but that doesn’t stop him from holing up under one of the tables with a pile of randomly selected books pulled off of the lowest shelves in the library. He spends his time here humming thoughtfully to himself and squinting down at the pages, the picture of a boy deep in thought- except that he doesn’t understand the majority of the words on the page.
THE HALLS
Adult!Carlos has four pet dogs in Wonderland: a pug, a great dane, a maltese and a golden retriever. Kid!Carlos has four new best friends that follow his tottering steps as he tries to navigate around without stepping on his robe-like lab coat or getting spotted by anyone that looks too official and adult-like. Approach Carlos in a friendly manner, and the dogs will probably leave you alone. Give off the wrong impression though, and… well, hope you like being chased by an angry maltese.
