blood is running deep
Who: Mirror!Steve and various other Mirrors
Where: All over the Mirrorside
When: 10/28
Rating: R for violence
Summary: The Mirrorside is overrun with nasty little jabberlizards. For a Mirror like Steve's, this is the closest he gets to home -- and he isn't going to let it be overrun.
The Story:
Despite the fact that the Mirrorside is occupied by the so-called darker halves of the Real Things, it's often a much quieter place. They're spared all of the events that the Real Things have to contend with, and usually their only entertainment is to watch that play out across the glass.
Suffice to say, Steve's Mirror had been watching very closely during the entirely of the Hydra event. Unsurprisingly, his Real hadn't even been a particularly good Hydra agent. He may have brainwashed a few people, but his conviction had been lacking, to say the least. Anyone who's forced to work for Hydra isn't going to serve the organization's best interests in the end.
That had been entertaining for a while, but ultimately it had drawn to an end, just like every other event. And living vicariously through his Real isn't this Mirror's idea of a good time, anyway.
It's difficult, not having some kind of mission or goal to see to, but the Queen doesn't ask much of them most of the time. Really, it comes in waves. The last time that the jabberwocky reared its ugly head, Steve's Mirror had paid for it with his existence. Thankfully, his Queen had seen his value and remade him.
But now the beast is back for round two, although it's not a beast anymore -- it's a series of smaller beasts. Whether that makes the fight simpler or more difficult remains to be seen, but the Mirror doesn't hesitate to head out with his shield in hand (the colors far more muted than his Real's, but otherwise very much the same) to fight off the attack.
He makes his way systematically through each hallway in the mansion. He would rather hunt than be hunted, and so the aim is to be proactive. The Queen will approve of that, he's sure. He's not that concerned with his fellow Mirrors, but if he comes across someone in danger, chances are he'll step in anyway. The other Mirrors are still creations of the Queen, and should therefore be protected if it comes up.
It isn't long before he's soaked in the blood of the nasty mini-jabberwocks, which glows bright blue in stains on his uniform, but that doesn't keep the Mirror from his task.
