( well at least he doesn't have to worry about a better version of himself. the fictionalized version of his life is incredibly wrong and far from superior. he was a fool with a vendetta against a sociopathic child scared of the sound of clocks and an actual crocodile. just skin the thing and be done with it, honestly. he lifts his eyebrows at the assertion he's not the only one it's happened to. he knows that, to a point — pretty much everyone in his world suffers from the story being retold incorrectly. that it's a commonality here in Wonderland is news to him, though.
