Steve has had some more experience with werewolves thanks to Lydia and some of the other people from her world. In that case, at least, they hadn't all been bad. Steve has to assume that applies to vampires, too. Maybe not demons so much, but he's also no expert. He can only go off of what he learns here.

Faith implies that she can actually fight these things, and that it's something she's done enough times to know her limits. Steve thinks that over as he takes a sip from one of the glasses of water that the server dropped off for them.

"But there are times when you're not alone," Steve qualifies as he sets the glass down. "It's the same for me. I can only do so much with the strength that I have, but if I'm fighting with my team, it's a completely different story." When they're actually functioning like a team, they're much stronger together than they could ever be apart.
