The Story:
{ APRIL 1st. }
Daisy has generally always been one to feel a lot. She has some trust issues, sure, but mostly when it comes to any mention of "home" or "family", but somehow through all of her life's issues, she's managed to keep a compassionate heart. Today she finds herself feeling too much. At some point in her day today, she's in the library, and it's during her hour here that she somehow starts thinking about dogs who didn't have homes and cried about it like it was one of those ASPCA commercials she'd seen on TV back in her home universe.
She's also in the kitchen, baking ... a lot. In fact, she's here for several hours -- most of the rest of the day -- baking vanilla cupcakes. What does she do with the tons of vanilla cupcakes she's made? She starts leaving one outside as many room doors as she can. That's right, Daisy has a lot of feelings about YOU, even if she's never met you, that you may be able to find a nice treat waiting for you. You may even see her placing the cupcake outside your door, if you catch her at the right moment.

{ APRIL 2nd ; morning + mid-afternoon. }
The second day, Daisy knows she can turn off these emotions, but she doesn't want to. She doesn't want to know what it's like to not feel, even though her emotions are roller coaster of intensity as of the last day and a half. Maybe she'll even back out at some point.
At some point, she can be found in the gardens, crying again. Over how intensely she already misses her team back home; right now she feels like she's been away for years.
{ STILL APRIL 2nd ; late afternoon + evening. }
It's later that day when she's in her room (7th floor - room #24) when her motions have finally spazzed out enough that she notices her bed -- which she's sitting on -- staring to slightly shake. Her eyes look over to her bedside table, also shaking slightly. Her eyes dart over to everything in her room. Yep. All slightly shaking.
"No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. This is bad." She gets up, panicked, tearing out of her room, teeth gritted and palms pressed up her face, near her temples. Her emotions have finally gotten to the point where they're so intense that the control of her powers is faltering. So, all she can do is run out of the mansion, so it doesn't come tumbling down. If you happen to notice slight tremors in your own rooms as she passes and tries to get out as quickly as possible, yes, it's her. Feel free to also catch her as she exits the mansion -- which, once she's out, her arms are back at her sides, kinda flailing, as she runs towards the forest.
She's going to need someone to stop her at any of these points to try to get her to find her chill again, and turn of her emotions so she can stop making the areas around her shake.

{ APRIL 3rd. }
An emotionless Daisy is a Daisy who is closed off about personal things, doesn't care about you or your problems in life. Anyone can run into her in any open areas of the mansion, where she just kind of is ... there. Pretty much blank, seeming like the emptiness in her now is a relief.

{ APRIL 4th ; post-event. }
Daisy survived ("survived") her first event in Wonderland, and she feels exhausted. Exhausted from the emotional swings, the weird feeling of being emotionless -- and the guilt. She hadn't brought the mansion down, but the idea that she could have, and easily, is one that weighs on her, and will.
Drinking is probably a terrible idea, but she could use a beer, so the fifth floor bar it is. She at least only limits herself to one, and takes her time with it. If anyone wants to sit with her, friend or stranger, she wouldn't say no.
She also goes for some time in the pool. She sits on the edge for a while, letting her legs dangle in the water, then hops in for actual swimming. She does a few laps, plays around with some pool toys just because. Anyone can join in here too.

"What are you doing there?" he wonders aloud.
He looks across the hall. Alistair's room is nearer the start of the corridor; there's an identical cupcake sitting outside his door. Anders looks to his right. The other rooms have cupcakes, too, and there, about ten doors down, is a woman just in the middle of setting one down in front of someone else's room.
"Hey!" he says, raising his voice to be heard. "Is this yours?"
2nd evening
When he does, he sees the woman running towards the door, and Peter follows without hesitation, running with all that super speed to catch up with her as they make it outside.
"Hey. Are you okay? You're-" earthquaking......

"It's a vanilla cupcake. Sooo now it's yours." And, bonus: it's not poisoned or whatever, if that's what he's wondering.
no subject
"My emotions have been swinging like a batshit crazy pendulum and now my powers have decided to do the same thing. Like they're 'new' all over again. I swear I don't usually do this." Continuing with the same tones she started with. "You might want to--" She cuts herself off, but that can be filled in with: back up, go the other way, you know - anywhere not in her general area.
no subject
"I'm not leaving." It's said with more fierceness than necessary. He's reckless sometimes in his need to save, to help others (and that is true more than ever right now when those feelings are stronger than they've ever been before). If she does cause an earthquake, he wants to be near enough to try to help. "Yeah, it's been going around in Wonderland. People- They're feeling really intense emotions like they can't control it. They can't calm down from them. Are your powers connected to your emotions usually?"
no subject
It would seem to Anders that the only reason an attractive woman would be giving him a cupcake is if they were friends, or he'd saved her cat from a burning building or something. Or... yes, maybe he'd ticked her off and it's poisoned. Closing his door behind him, he steps out and picks the cupcake up.
"I don't know what I did to deserve one."
[Late April 2nd]
"Do you feel that? What's happening?"
At least if it were the Hulk, it would be a lot noisier by now. Right?
4th!
When Daisy comes in looking a little worse for wear, he swings the towel over one shoulder and leans on the bar to flash her a warm smile.
"Welcome to Event Recovery 101. What can I get you?"
no subject
"It just stared a few minutes ago. I'm trying to put as much distance as I can between me and this place before it gets worse."
no subject
She thinks for a second. "What's good for someone that just survived -- 'survived', maybe" The air quotes are evident in her tone with that second 'survived'. "--their first event?" She'd been told of events happening every so often, when she first got here, but y i k e s. She was not prepared to experience one like that.
no subject
"As for knowing each other, no, we don't. I'm kinda new here. Like a couple weeks or so new." She walks back over to where he is. "Hi, I'm Daisy Johnson." She extends a hand for him to shake if he wants, and offers a smile. Might as well introduce herself and fix that problem of not knowing one another.
no subject
"Yeah, I caused so many things to shatter or crumble because I didn't know how to calm my emotions or heart rate down and I'd just get sad and upset, stressed, worked up, or anxious or whatever over something and just... go off."
no subject
He leans on the bar and studies her with a sympathetic smile. "Had a hell of one, huh? That happens sometimes. If it's not the emotional ones, it's the violent ones. There's not often a middle ground. At least they're usually short and temporary?" It's a small consolation, but he usually takes it for what it is. Coming from a place where shit is shitty on a permanent basis puts things in a different perspective.
"Why don't I make you a survivor's special to celebrate, then?"
Did that drink previously exist on the menu? Of course not, but it's going to now.

Despite the panic she can see written on the girl's face, Natasha's own expression is calm, only a hint of concern lingering in her gaze as she keeps her focus fully on the girl. Taking the crisis one step at a time and giving something solid and secure for Daisy to focus on, even if there wasn't much Natasha could do about an earthquake.

At the very least, that seems to be the general consensus. There should be a club with matching jackets for it, but that can come later. For now, she's opening the door just as Daisy is leaving the delicious-looking vanilla cupcake. Elena is not against vanilla cupcakes—cupcakes and muffins may be the only thing she can actually bake well—but she also is certain she's never seen Daisy before.
A small frown creases her forehead. "I think you have the wrong room."
no subject
"I'm sorry." The words tumble out of him sincerely even from within the walls of his own guilt and responsibility. "That- It must have been terrifying. Must have been scared of your own emotions."
He would be. Thankfully his powers aren't tied to his feelings, and he is allowed control over them, but he remembers how scary it was those first few days when he had no idea what was happening to him or how to use it.
2nd, morning
This was all temporary. With that in mind, he was simply trying to weather the storm.
Some seemed to be weathering it better than others. Case in point, the girl sobbing in the garden. So much for escaping the whirlwind of emotions in the mansion. He didn't enjoy seeing a lady in tears, even if it contrasted with the whole despicable pirate thing, and with his emotions heightened it was impossible to ignore her. Which meant, unfortunately for the girl involved, he had to try and stop them. "You know, I'm not sure why these fell out of vogue in modern times." He means the handkerchief he's holding out for her, sympathy apparent in his expression (he couldn't hide it if he wanted to). "And before you ask, it's clean."
no subject
That's touching. Honestly touching, no sarcasm involved.
"Daisy Johnson," he repeats. He's smiling before he realizes it, a heartfelt smile that shakes the dust off unused muscles in his face. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Anders." He gladly shakes her hand with the one not holding the cupcake, smile growing in size and amusement.
"No one's ever just given me a cupcake before. I thought the person moving into a new place was supposed to be the one getting housewarming gifts, not the other way around."
no subject
"I'm Daisy." A beat. "Johnson." Because last names are also helpful. "Sorta new here."
no subject
"That sounds awesome, thanks." Also most accurate drink name, for whatever the drink is.

"You can make earthquakes?" Huh. That's a new one. "Cool."
He starts mixing her a drink, something potent and a little on the sweet side as he inclines her head. "Yeah, usually. Some feel like they last longer, just because of the amount of shit in them, but the longest one I've ever been stuck in lasted..." hr pauses to hum thoughtfully, thinking back. "Maybe a week at the most. Usually they're only two or three days, on average."
no subject
"Not precisely." Sokovia didn't exactly count, did it? "Are you powers tied to your emotions?"
Since this was the first evidence Daisy had shown of these abilities and that's what the strange magic seemed to be triggering this weekend, it wasn't a far leap of logic to put two and two together.
And she did have some experience in dealing with people whose volatile emotional state could often spell bad news.
