[ things have been weird for bonnie and elena ever since the mirror fiasco.
some of it is due to what has been said. some of it is due to what has deliberately not been said. not for the first time, they're left to pick up the pieces of the wreckage left behind by a wonderland event. ah, but best friends will be best friends, and if elena and bonnie have perfected anything, it's the art of wordless communication. they decided, without needing to speak to each other at all, that any weirdness and future talks will be put on pause as they welcome damon to wonderland.
as soon as he arrived, elena's inbox was flooded with messages from bonnie. and now that elena is done talking to damon, it's bonnie's inbox that will be taking a hit. the messages rather insistently ask bonnie to meet her at the youth center. she will be staying away from the bar for this conversation. knowing damon as well as she does, elena doesn't doubt he'll pick the bar as his new second home, and this is meant to stay private.
there's one slight problem, of course.
the youth center is still in the process of remodeling, and it seems to have a mind of its own sometimes. it might be picking up on elena's distress, who knows. whatever the reason? the room she is waiting in suddenly becomes a ball pit. out of nowhere, thousands of colorful balls start to flood the room, wall to wall.
a pathetic yelp can be heard as elena is lost in a sea of red and blue and yellow. ]
