For awhile, he just stands there with the knife in hand, shifting his claws a bit on the handle before he starts to turn it towards himself. Just... a few hits, right? He didn't have much HP without the SOULs, just a bit more than a usual monster. Boss monsters were physically stronger, but it didn't matter. They still died in the same way.
Especially one without a SOUL.
It only moves a fraction of an inch before he hears the two voices pipe up and he can't move, can't run, he's frozen and caught holding a knife and they're going to assume the worst but he can't think he can't react--
Papyrus talks and the knife drops, clattering to the floor. Asriel's eyes are wide and darting between the two skeleton monsters and both claws just wrap around himself, surprise melding into something more haunted and he can already feel himself starting to shake. Papyrus. Sans. They caught him with a knife. Maybe this works out better. Sans can just kill him like he had so many times before and now he doesn't even have to do anything, himself.
