Oh, he sees that glare. What's that supposed to mean? Sans narrows his eyesockets slightly. What, is this some kind of challenge? Is Asriel gonna take a flying leap for the knife? Cause that seems a bit extreme. And he must know Sans would just stop him, even if he doesn't have a soul to turn blue. It'd be a simple matter of just sticking the knife to the ceiling with telekinesis or something.

But then the poor kid starts to cry and...okay. Clearly something is getting lost in translation. And, well, that's what happens when you try to communicate entirely with significant looks and body language.

Sans relaxes just slightly with a sigh, closing his eyesockets for a moment.

"i think the kid's just having a bad day, paps."

A bad life, if we're all being honest.

Sans takes a few steps forward. Careful and slow, since...well, he might not actually remember fighting a certain flower probably hundreds of times, but it certainly happened. And if there's anyone in Wonderland that Asriel won't want to get to close, it's Sans.

And maybe Chara. Probably Chara. Considering Chara completely lost their shit when Asriel arrived, there's obviously a lot of baggage there.

"cooking's a pretty good distraction. takes your mind off things. and with paps, you're pretty much guaranteed to have fun. so..."

He shrugs. He doesn't trust Asriel in the least, but the kid deserves a bit of normalcy--a distraction. Something. And so long as Sans is here, he's pretty sure the kid won't try to hurt Papyrus.
