[ in a gust of wind and golden-yellow electricity, barry appears in a blink of an eye. ]
[ not barry. the flash. ]
[ dressed in his red suit, mask pulled over his face, the flash appears in a gust of wind and kinetic yellow as he skids to a halt at the end of the hallway. it's with giddy and almost childish glee he does so. there's a smile on his face as barry finds himself enjoying this part of summerween. there's loss and there's an emptiness that ebbs inside of him at the thought he should be doing this with dad, that he's done this with mom fifteen years ago — but barry finds wonderland puts a unique twist on things, and it allows barry to change the way the tide seems to turn for him. ]
[ if only for a moment. ]
[ he's not running from anything in particular. barry's simply impatient. unable to really walk at a human-pace, he's a little excited to try and catch the candies being thrown at him whenever he opens a door in the mansion. determined to see what each door plans to toss at him to try and catch in his fabric-made bag, all the fun, unsurprisingly, comes to an end when he looks up the hallway. ]
[ what he sees: the trickster standing behind a cheshire cat. and what he thinks: the cheshire cat is in danger. ]
[ except the trickster's looking at him. ]
[ deep voice vibrating, his face, a little sharp beneath the mask, lips and the tip of his nose a clear outline for anyone to see, he rolls his green eyes. the sack in his hands is no longer pinched tight. ] Oh crap.
