Souji blinks up at Kanji once and then smiles. It's the tiniest of smiles. There's some relief and some chagrin in it. Of course, he should have expected this from the beginning. Kanji's brand of handling things isn't always the best choice, but right now... Right now it was exactly what Souji needed.
