[Punctuality in planning is important: the ballroom itself will only be ready for guests at exactly 8 o'clock, bedecked in glittering golds and the red-green of Christmas' vestiges, still clinging to the old year. Dining tables surround a central dance floor, bars and buffets dot the edges of the room and both holly and mistletoe are expressed liberally through the interior.

Mingle, dance, eat and be merry! The New Year will come in at midnight - the band will play and the drinks will flow for long after.

nonscriptum: to a non-believer? (I thought he was faking it)

Catholics are a dying breed.

[Ironic.

Nate was pleasantly surprised to find he had a great deal in common with Dean Winchester, albeit not with regards to historical research, so he has to wonder what kind of insult it is for the two of them. Nate considers himself a little old-fashioned, although it's always served him well.
]

So...why're you into historical minutiae?

Uh - [ He laughs briefly, considering the question. The time for lies about their 'profession' is long gone, given... Wonderland. ] My brother and I sort of... hunt monsters. And other things. Historical minutiae is usually the difference between surviving that or not.

[ You have to know, say, the right kind of tree to use to make a stake, after all. ]

How about you?
nonscriptum: truly a marvel of anatomical engineering (do u ever look at ur hand)

[Dean never gave Nate much concrete information about the intricate details of his job, and Nate can imagine why: a guy probably gets a lot of weird looks for claiming that he hunts monsters. As unbelievable as it sound Nate can't voice incredulity when he's got his own experiences to back up claims of The Strange and Unusual.

There's an odd kinship he feels with the sort of person who researches to acquire (or in this case, destroy) something. Nate has done both (the latter on-accident). He feels less odd about being honest.
]

I sort of...hunt treasure.

'Sort of.' [ Sam isn't really 'sort-of' anything; all he is is a hunter and all he isn't is much of what he claims to be (professor, FBI agent, student). ] Uh-huh.

[ Whatever that means, buddy. ]

Lots of foreign explorations? Jungles, temples, deserts?
