Summary: There's a new arrival to Wonderland
The Story:
- [ At first everything was fine. Physically, anyway, but emotionally things were different. She'd had to say goodbye, lose someone that she was just getting the chance to know again, and know better, and now he was gone. It was for the right reason - to find Henry and to bring him home but it still hurt, having to stay in Storybrooke wondering if Rumple would be alright. She had her task - to protect the town in stead of everyone that had left. Belle would do that - keep everyone safe the best that she could, make sure that nothing happened whilst he was gone.
She gave it a few more seconds of looking out at the water before she closed her eyes, getting herself to turn to head back into town to go to the shop. If she kept staring at the water he didn't feel so far away, but she wouldn't be of any use if she didn't move. It was when Belle opened her eyes again, turned on the spot that she realised that something was different. The town was gone. Instead of the path that they'd been on to come to the docks, the familiar sights of everything around her there was something else. A strange looking path, a large hedge wall and somewhere that she didn't know.
There were only two- three people that Belle knew that could possibly do something like this. One was dead and the other two had been on Hook's ship. No one else in Storybrooke had magic - or the kind of magic needed for this, not that anyone knew of and Rumple would have known. It didn't make sense that she'd be gone either, not with him leaving her something to do - something important. That made this all the more worrying ]
Hello?
[ She didn't see anyone around, not in the immediate vicinity but this wasn't Storybrooke - she didn't know where anyone would be, or who might be there ]

And then Robin Hood had shown up, and any sense of normalcy available in Wonderland had flown out the window. So she's found herself taking walks along the beach to clear her head.
It works, sometimes.
Now is not one of those times, which means she's distracted when she arrives at the docks. Belle doesn't even get noticed until she calls out.]
Belle?
no subject
You shouldn't be here. [ It's the truth of it. Belle has a lot of questions, a few different scenarios going through her head. She hoped it was one of the better ones being the answer ] Do you know what's going on?
[ It was a reasonable question - Regina always seemed to know something, especially if magic was involved ]
no subject
You're in Wonderland, Belle. [She shouldn't have to explain that, at least.] I'll explain more, but I need to know what the last thing you remember is.
no subject
[ Shouldn't that be obvious? Regina was on her way to Wonderland, Belle had stayed behind. The last thing she remembered was watching that boat leave ]
What's going on?
no subject
[That wasn't fun, nor was explaining everything that had happened when they saved Henry.]
Now answer the question.
no subject
Did you find him?
[ Regina had been to Neverland and back. She must have - she wouldn't have come back without him ]
no subject
Yes, we saved him.
[It puts Regina in an awkward position, more awkward than all her interactions with Belle previously, really.]
A lot has happened since then.
no subject
[ Come on Regina, really? ]
You keep wanting me to answer your questions but you're not answering mine.
[ That one about Henry doesn't count because it didn't really give her any information. Just an answer - no detail, no story. Nothing that would help her understand ]
no subject
[CLEARLY.]
We saved Henry from Peter Pan and made it back to Storybrooke. Pan had stolen Henry's body and used it to cast the Dark Curse. We saved Henry again, but Gold sacrificed himself to stop Pan.
[That's what happens when you get short with her, Belle.]
no subject
It stops Belle, anyway. Stops her questions - her thought for a minute. Rumple sacrificed himself... which meant that he'd be dead. When they got out of here she would have to go through all of that... watching him die ]
How? How did it all happen?
[ Why did they have Pan... how did it get so far that Rumple had to die? ]
no subject
Pan... tricked me to gain access to my vault so he could steal the scroll containing the Dark Curse. Gold revealed the only way to stop the curse was undoing my original curse that created Storybrooke. To do that, we needed the scroll.
[Despite the flippant way she revealed his death, she isn't exactly happy about it either.]
Gold sacrificed himself to take out Pan, so I could undo my curse.
no subject
[ To lose her love. She was glad that Henry was okay, that they had been able to stop Pan and undo the curse to get them all home but... she had to lose him. It was a selfish thing to sit on but maybe she should be a little selfish - everyone else was okay. She just didn't want to accept it when none of this had happened.
None of it had happened. That was a thought striking her now. She knew - she was here, being told about what would happen. It could be different ]
I can stop it. Tell you what's going to happen when I leave here. We can stop Pan earlier and keep everyone safe.
[ Keep Rumple alive ]
no subject
If we had more time, maybe. But Pan is powerful and we were racing against the clock.
[She at least has the decency to look uncomfortable.]
But when you leave Wonderland, you won't remember a single thing that happened here.
no subject
[ Was it like the boundary outside of Storybrooke? Would she forget herself all over again?
But wait. They could stop that - they had before. Rumple had kept his memories over the boundary line ]
What about the potion that Rumple used when he went to go find Baelfire? That let him keep his memories. If I take that before going back to Storybrooke then things could be different.
no subject
[Except Henry got spat out and never returned, so don't ask.
Belle's idea is good, though.]
It's possible, but magical ingredients aren't easy to come by here. There's also the matter of getting back.
no subject
[ She wants to believe in the possibility - in the good of it all. Of being able to help people - to stop Pan, help with Henry and ultimately save Rumple. Everything could be good for once ]
Being able to create the portal might be difficult but I'm not just going to give up. I'll search for a way.
no subject
[She needs to believe that she won't be stuck here, without Henry or any chance of properly moving on forever. Nobody wants her to go down that road, not even herself.]
Maybe you'll have more luck in the library than I did.
no subject
[ Which she's definitely hoping that she will, and she does believe she'll have more luck than Regina on that. Books are her thing like this next bit is Regina's thing ]
-can I count on you to do it? Use your magic to fix this?
[ Getting them home was one thing, of course Regina wanted that but what about sending Belle back? To change what had happened? ]
no subject
But staying here means living under Wonderland's whims, as well as Pan. Eventually she gives a firm nod.]
Yes, you can. I doubt you'll be able to change anything, but I won't try and stop you.
[She looks away briefly.]
You aren't the only one affected by his sacrifice.
no subject
[ Regina might not have the hope but Belle does. Belle will keep having it - believe that she can make a difference even if it's difficult to try ]
Besides, we have to actually make getting out of here work before you start doubting me.
[ And she was trusting you enough ]
no subject
[HA. HA. HA.]
no subject
[ Maybe it was true because Regina was very knowledgeable about magic but- ]
Everything could be impossible until it's done.
no subject
[ALL OF THOSE HAVE BEEN BROKEN NOW. DAMN IT JAFAR AND EMMA.]
