Is this the end of everything? [CLOSED]
Who: Natasha
widows_kiss and Darcy
sorryitasedyou
Where: Stairs heading up to the 7th floor
When: [cough cough major backdate] 5/18
Rating: R to be safe for possible gore-y sort of things like blood and violence...
Summary: Darcy survived the initial encounter with Angel during the event, now it's a matter of staying alive through the aftermath.
The Story:
The events in the tea room had escalated quickly - much faster than she could have ever anticipated. She was grateful that whoever the guy, no vampire, was had regained some sort of self control - it didn't change the fact that she was bleeding at a fairly rapid pace from the bite in her neck. She hadn't needed to be told twice to run, a hand flying to her throat and blood pounding in her ears. She knew she needed to slow her breathing, the adrenaline only making her heart beat faster and the faster that beat, the more blood she lost. She had a first aid kit in her room... She just had to make it there.
She was doing well, making it up to the 5th floor before the blood loss finally started to catch up to her, her hair matted to her skin and shirt ruined. She stops, leaning against a wall, trying to stay calm as she felt the shock starting to set in. Her breath was coming in faster and faster bursts, she lets herself sink down onto the step, feeling lightheaded.
She just needed to rest for a minute... Just one minute to find that last bit of strength to press on and she'd be okay - and if she wasn't? Well, at least they came back from the dead here - or at least that's her understanding. That's the last thing she remembers as she lets her eyes drift shut for just a moment, the pull of darkness too hard to resist.

Were those bite marks?
Cursing under her breath, she falls back on skills she's had to employ dozens of times on the field to keep fellow agents - or her partner, since Clint seemed to get himself into more trouble than most - from dying on her. She didn't even hesitate before yanking her tshirt off over her head, uncaring about modesty for the moment. The cloth was thin and light and would have to do until she could get the girl down to the clinic.
Pressing the fabric to the wound to staunch the bleeding, she tries to rouse Darcy, her gaze narrowed and worried.
"Darcy, Darcy, stay with me here. Open your eyes. Can you hear me?"
no subject
"I have to-- I need-- Nat--" It takes way more effort than she'd expected to let out a coherent chain of words. She lets her eyes close for just a moment before re-opening them in an attempt to refocus.
Her room. There was a first aid kit in her room. Bandages were in that kit. Reaching out, she grips Natasha's arm, not even caring about blood right now.
"My room-- kit in my ro-room. Bandag--" The word dies off with a wince from the pain radiating from her neck, her entire body feeling sluggish and achy.

She turns her focus back to the girl slumped in front of her, gripping her face and dragging Darcy's attention to her again. "I'll get you to your room and get you patched up, but I need you to keep pressure on this for me until I get you there, alright?" She instructs, her voice sharp as she gives the order, bringing Darcy's hand up to where she clutches her tshirt against her neck.
"I only have so many hands and you're still bleeding. Can you do that for me, Darcy? Can you hold this here?"
Hopefully it would give the girl something to focus on, if she could keep from drifting off again. How much blood had she lost?
no subject
"Ye-yeah."
She takes a shaky breath and focuses on the task, maintaining the pressure on the wound. She had a feeling the vamp wouldn't be still after her, but it was definitely a risk - especially with whatever seemed to be going on in Wonderland. At least her room had a door and Natasha had found her. She at least stood a chance to get through this.

"Just hold on to me," she instructed her as she helped her down the hall - not towards Darcy's room, but towards her own. FOr one thing, it was closer and for another, she had her own supplies tucked away, right where she knew they would be and just what she knew she'd need. Or at least as close to it as she was likely to get.
Having Barton as a partner made her keep emergency supplies on hand just in case.
woo post-hiatus catch up! feel free to drop if needed!
It's a massive effort to put one foot in front of the other, the desire to collapse back to the floor strong.
She lets Natasha lead her down the hall, surprised when they arrive at a door that's not hers. She doesn't have the energy to argue, especially not with someone like her support right now, instead just letting the woman lead her wherever she needs to... She just does her best to maintain the pressure and breathe.

"Sit tight for a second, Darcy, let me get my kit."
Which is tucked in one of her dresser drawers for safekeeping and holds far more than a typical first aid kit normally came with. As long as she didn't have to delve into surgery, Natasha was prepared for just about anything. She cam back and knelt between Darcy's legs, her hands gentle as she guided the girl's hands away from her throat. "Alright, let up a little, let me see what we have to work with here. Can you tell me what happened?"
Which would give Natasha information as well as keep Darcy focused and talking.

She thinks back at the question, trying to recall details.
"I was in a tea room, checking things out when there was this guy in the corner. I checked to see if he was okay and he kept saying something about being hungry before attacking my throat. I guess vampires are real after all."
It really shouldn't surprise her that much considering she'd been bitten here before, she just didn't remember it - no such luck this time around.

She's careful, but there's no way of avoiding this stinging, but she's hoping she can at least get it to stop bleeding. And hopes that this won't require anything more serious than a patch while it heals. She'd have to get in contact with Ellen or the clinic if it looked too deep.
"I'd heard there might be some here. Not who, though. Along with the werewolves and angels and demons."
no subject
"What the hell else is here? I'd heard about the angels and demons... but werewolves too?"
no subject
Not that she was just going to take anyone's word. It was always good to be cautious, but she'd taken it under advisement.

She sighs, closing her eyes for a moment before focusing back on the spot she'd picked. She felt like she could sleep for a week and probably still be tired. She doesn't blame the vamp, considering what this place was capable of, no one was truly safe. She was just hoping it wouldn't get out too much, not wanting there to be any fallout from it. She just wanted to move on and keep it as on the down low as possible... And that meant keeping it from Jane.
no subject
She'd made sure to locate that early on, just in case.

"No clinics - I don't need this getting around. Especially not to Jane, she'll flip. The fewer people, the better - I don't want to make a fuss." Her eyes are wide as she looks at Natasha, hoping she'll comply with the request.
"I just need to rest and lay low - I'll be fine. I'm resilient. I-- I get it if you need to tell someone like Steve or Phil or Bucky or something, but I just..." Her words die off with a yawn.
no subject
"I won't tell Jane," she finally agrees, because that is Darcy's call, in her opinion. "I may let Steve or Coulson know, just to see if it's something the team should be aware of. If this happens to more people than you, it should be something we're watching for. Someone else might not be as quickly found as you were."
no subject
She can't argue with that because it could happen again and could result in death instead of some blood loss and bandages. She knows she's lucky that Natasha found her and that she hadn't experienced her first death in the hall. She also didn't blame the guy, the mansion doing weird things to everyone.
"I don't want it to be a big thing and I promise, I'll tell Jane eventually - once things calm down." Aka probably never because Jane was going to flip.

"A girl can hope for a dull moment." Although she never thought she'd long for the boring days in New Mexico before they'd gone out into the desert to chase a storm.
"I'm... I'm okay, just still a little shaken and tired, but I'll be fine - I don't want to intrude anymore... You've already done so much - seriously --" She stifles a yawn, giving Natasha a serious look. "I'm pretty sure I'd be dead right now if it wasn't for you. I can't ask for more."
