Speed Dating: not for the faint of heart

Who: Class 1-2 (Charlie Kelmeckis, Clint Barton, Crowley, Hannibal Lecter, Kevin Tran, Kili, Luke Smith, Percy Jackson, Quinn Fabray, Ruby, Sam Yao, Santana Lopez, Seta Souji, Simon Lauchlan, Steve Rogers, Tinker Bell) & EVERYONE
Where: Class 1-2's awesome Speed Dating Cafe
When: Saturday 7/12 - Wednesday 7/16. Saturday - Monday are preparation days, and then they're open for business Tuesday and Wednesday.
Rating: PG, maybe PG-13?
Summary: Class 1-2 is playing matchmaker! Sort of. Actually they're just leaving it up to luck and your charming personality. Wait, you don't have one of those? Well, at least this will be blessedly short...
The Story:

Class 1-2's classroom has been transformed for the cultural festival, all the desks rearranged until pairs of two are pushed together and face each other, creating an intimate setting that's separated by dividers they've borrowed from elsewhere in the school.

Red and pink paper hearts dangle from the ceiling and the shades are drawn, leaving the light cast from the lanterns hung overhead and the tiny lights strung up around the edges of the room to set the mood. Music plays quietly in the background, just enough to help muffle the individual conversations and give a bit more hint of privacy and all students that wander in for one of the speed sessions are informed they have the length of one song to chat up their partner before switching. Students are welcome to switch up as many times as they like in search of that special someone.

Unfortunately, Class 1-2 can not guarantee you finding your true love. Please don't hold it against them if you don't.

[[OOC Note: How this works: 1) Drop your character in a top thread or hit up one or more of the others already waiting. 2) You have the span of approximately 7-10 comments (handy AC number there) to get your flirt on and make an impression before the song ends and you switch partners. Since this is meant to be a short and quick encounter, try not to drag out the interaction too long, because they would be interrupted at the end of the allotted time.]]

( Quinn wasn't exactly someone who wanted to be part of the speed dating either, but considering her class had been the one to set it up and she'd been roped in she felt compelled to stay. And suffer. This was not fun. At least she was up with Sam, which wouldn't be so bad? )

How long do you think these few minutes will feel?
voiceinthedark: (Pondering)

[He rolls his eyes and glances down at his watch.]

Do you want that to the second? Or will 'forever' work?

[personal profile] formercheerio 2014-07-16 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
If you could get it to the second I wouldn't be sitting through math homework with you.

( Or maybe she would because she also very much sucked at it. At least they could suck together? )

Hey! I know how many seconds there are in a minute. Really! That mistake was one time.

Once was enough. Why did we have to get dragged into doing this?

( Because speed dating was just dumb )
voiceinthedark: (Sympathetic)

[personal profile] voiceinthedark 2014-07-16 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Because our classmates are sadists who want to see us suffer.

[Or were maybe less self conscious than Sam at least.]

If I could stay here after the time was up I'd stop you from suffering.

( As a friend. Obviously )

Do you promise?

[Sam grins at her.]

I think that's the nicest thing anyone's said to me at this thing yet. Think they'd notice if we slipped out?

[personal profile] formercheerio 2014-07-23 10:44 am (UTC)(link)
Probably, but I don't care if they do.

( What would they do, anyway? They'd at least taken part in setting it up and had taken part a little. Maybe they just needed some air )

Come on. Let's go.
voiceinthedark: (Just happy)

[personal profile] voiceinthedark 2014-07-24 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
[He blinks at her for a moment and then nods, pushing himself to his feet. It feels pretty illicit and it's not like they'll really be missed. people have been milling in and out all day.]

Alright. Where d'you want to go?

[personal profile] formercheerio 2014-07-26 09:40 am (UTC)(link)
I'd say crash one of the other events but they'll probably try to get us involved.

( Even if it was only planning. Especially if it was planning )

A walk outside?
voiceinthedark: (Winsome)

[personal profile] voiceinthedark 2014-07-27 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
'cause they totally don't have enough people of their own.

Sure, I could do with a bit of fresh air.

Even if there's nothing there it'll be better than this.

( Quinn pushes herself to her feet, following Sam out )

So how many dates did you have?
voiceinthedark: (Winsome)

[personal profile] voiceinthedark 2014-08-01 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
True.

[They sneak out into the hallway which is mercifully quieter than the classroom.]

Uh, two or three. Enough to know I'm not cut out for this. You?
