Who: Helena and everyone who wants to come (Gathering Style)
Where: Helena's room
When: Friday, August 21st, 7:00 p.m.
Rating: G
Summary: Helena hosts a showing of Disney's Robin Hood. (watch here if you'd like!) Treat this post as a gathering and tag in,tag around, have fun!
The Story: .
[Helena is happy to be a host for all to watch this movie of Robin Hood. It's so amusing because he is actually here in Wonderland, and he is not a fox, so she is excited to see what he thinks about this story of his life. She has many things thanks to the closet, bean bag chairs and a nice couch and chairs. Many snacks as well for all the people if they arrive but if not, much food for her to enjoy. Pizza, chips, M&Ms and donuts. Also soda and juice. If people bring their own things, they do not have to share and it can be all for them.
The movie will start promptly at seven, no exceptions, and there is a seat reserved just for Robin Hood himself, right next to her.]

Brennan | OTA
He thought the pizza was incredible and then he discovered the M&M's and this might officially be his favorite new discovery of the week.
Of course, that lasts until the movie starts. And then he just sits and watches in spellbound awe as the pictures move and tell a story about a roguish hero and Maker's breath, but he wishes Varric were here to see this.
Feel free to happen by and stop for a chat at any point, whether it's sharing a bit, exchanging a few words, or laughing at the gaping soldier left completely speechless by the wonders of modern technology. ]

He offers the candy as he makes himself comfortable, more than willing to share.]
Can you believe these? What are they called?
[Because Thedas could use them.]

[ Brennan chuckles as he reaches out and steals a handful, because he may have already gone up for seconds of his own. And is contemplating thirds. Some universe out there is genius.
He eyes the glass of dark liquid Dorian holds with a curious look as it fizzes and bubbles. Some strange sort of champagne maybe? ] What the blazes is that?
no subject
Why concern ourselves with Josephine when it looks as though you'll do a fine job of hoarding them all on your own?
[He smirks, then holds up the glass in his right hand as if to examine it more closely, giving them both a clear shot at it.]
Soda, I heard someone say? I can't quite decide if it's brilliant or vile just yet.
no subject
Can you hoard something when there's an endless supply a mere few steps away in a closet? [ He ponders the concept aloud, partially to tease and partially just because he enjoyed the expressions that inevitably chased their way across his lover's face at the mention of the magical closets.
He leans in when Dorian holds up the glass however, eyeing it with a speculative glance. ] What is it? Is it a juice? A wine?
no subject
[Maybe not-- he realizes the definition gets a bit fuzzy when things are quite literally limitless. That's still something he'll have to get used to, even having grown up in the lap of luxury, never having truly wanted for anything until he'd left home. His few short years away from Tevinter had been enough to teach him a great deal about life beyond his family's realm of influence.
He doesn't disappoint, however. He grimaces, nose wrinkling slightly at the mention of the closets. Insulting, really.]
Neither. It's like no fruit I've ever tasted-- and considering how well I know wines, it's certainly not that. Try some?
[He offers the glass, briefly. Maybe Brennan can help him figure it out.]
no subject
What a strange thing. It's not bad, but it is is very sweet. Apparently other realms have quite the sweet tooth. Sera would love this, I suspect.
no subject
[Said with both amusement and a certain degree of fondness-- Dorian certainly can't blame her, there. His own sweet tooth is not quite so well-tended as hers, but he has his moments.]
Bizarre, isn't it? Naturally, the only option is to study it-- by drinking our fill, of course.
[Alas, if only he knew you could mix it with alcohol.]

[He's almost positive-- but he gestures to the room at large just to prove his point.]
Besides, even if it does, I've no doubt you'll dotingly nurse me back to health.
no subject
Only if you don't get sick on me. After that, all bets are off. Too messy. [ He's lying. He would indeed dotingly nurse him through just about anything. ]
no subject
[He smirks, taking another experimental sip of his drink, considering it as it rolls over his tongue.]
I'll do my best to be careful about my aim, amatus.
no subject
[ He makes a face at that, but it melts into a fond smile as he glances over at the mage's use of that name. ] Cheater.
no subject
[He grins as he teases, pleased with himself and popping another M&M into his mouth.
If they get to go home anytime soon, they are bringing these with them.]
I never claimed to play fair, Brennan.

So, what do you make of all this - the film and this...Robin Hood fellow? [ Never mind that he's Robin Hood, he wants to know if anyone has serious opinions about this...odd fox creature with his name. ]
no subject
[ Brennan's not ashamed to gush a bit, because he's never seen anything like this and he's still trying to wrap his brain around the sort of magic one would use to make pictures move in such a way. ]
We have stories where I come from, of course, and plays. But this... Nothing like this. I've a friend that would be beside himself if he could see this. He'd love it. And the character, too.
[ Varric always loved a good story and a compelling hero. And Brennan might be a little biased, but he's certainly gained himself a soft spot for mischievous archer rogues with a fondness for trouble and a deep sense of right and wrong. ]

I was quite astonished the first time I saw a film at all, we never had more than plays and stories in my world as well. It took me a bit to learn to use the device when I arrived here.
[ Ah now, this is the fun part. ]
As for Robin Hood - strange as it may sound, I am Robin Hood. This cartoon fox is just a...lesser incarnation.

[ Brennan looks relieved to not be the only one to find these 'movies' new and strange and exciting.
Although his eyebrows wing upwards in surprise as the man introduces himself and Brennan glances from the man to the screen and back again. ]
You're the fox?
no subject
[ He's not a vain man, but this cartoon fox is rather absurd, honestly. ]
I wonder how such an idea was conceived, why someone would take stories from life and make...this. I...suppose it's somewhat entertaining, if not a little unnerving.
[ Enough about him, though. ] What sort of world do you hail from?
no subject
It's not so far fetched. I've a friend who is a storyteller. He doesn't delve into foxes much, but I imagine they used the creatures to make a point without saying so bluntly. Clever and sneaky, a fox. I believe it's called an allegory.
[ Brennan grins and gives a short laugh at that question. ] A messy one. And one that has nothing like this. [ He waves a hand at the movie again. ] Most here some comfortable and accommodated to such magics. My world would seem very strange to them, I suspect.
no subject
[ He knows that feeling and smiles softly. ] That sounds like my world. Though I didn't think it was possible, I've learned to adjust here after a year.
Have you been in Wonderland long?
no subject
No, barely a month, actually. Everything is still fairly overwhelming. You've been here an entire year?
no subject
[ Not that he's alone in that regard, and he's not about to dump all his problems on a stranger. ]
I'm quite sure many people here would agree, though, especially with the rather bizarre events that occur regularly.
no subject
[ Brennan casts him a sympathetic glance, because he knows all too well how that can happen. ]
Everything is rather... strange. [ There, that's tactful, right? ]
no subject
It has been. I do try to focus on the good around me but every so often I'm not as successful as I'd like to be.
But tonight is a good night. With good company.
