weak and worried i shut my wild eyes
Who: River Tam and YOU
Where: Hallways surrounding the library, different one depending on the day
When: Throughout the first couple weeks of July
Rating: Uhhh PG? I'll update if anything happens
Summary: River hovers around the library and might even enter! Wow! But probably not. Also includes catch-all for anyone from the CR Meme (or otherwise) who needs to get ahold of her.
The Story:
A. Library
[The library. It's a usual haunt of River's, and she likes to pretend she's got a routine. It's broken now that she hasn't been able to enter since her last run-in with Frisk ended spectacularly badly. She decides to go, wants to try again today, or she doesn't think as she walks and finds herself back at the library's entrance. Whichever floor it's on today.
She might stop outside the door and stare. She might reach for the handle and recoil from it suddenly if she treads too close. She might pretend she didn't want to go to the library at all and keep walking, only to double back and check on it again. She might pace back and forth, muttering seemingly random phrases to herself.]
It can't feel you. Not a person, not a thing, a location. No, but the mansion breathes... Can you feel me within you? Can't decide a single thing... Wants me out, get out of my head, how about that? I'm just glass, just glass... Room can decide if it wants you in it, rooms, I can feel what rooms are thinking...
[She knows Frisk isn't always in there. Sometimes she's absolutely sure they're not in there. She might even be more likely to run into them out here. She needs to suck it up and just enter.
Or even suck it up and just message them. But that sure sounds like it requires nerve.]
B. Catch-all
[ooc: If your character wants to catch her at or near her room, that's an option as well! This post is meant to cover anyone who expressed interest from the CR Meme (or anyone else) so anything goes really!]

B. Let me know if it's not OK
His other hand is occupied with keeping Purrlock from tumbling out of the pocket he'd settled into and refused to vacate so the little cat could talk to Alistair the entire trip upstairs. A conversation Alistair himself happily participates in as they make their noisy way through the mansion.
He stops in front of the right door, shushing Purrlock and pausing just long enough to listen for sounds of trouble - things breaking or yelling or maybe crazed cackling - before knocking.]
River? It's me. Alistair. [Which she must already know, being as nothing has indicated so far that she's stopped being able to hear his thoughts but he feels better saying it. And it's polite. He can't just turn up at a lady's door unannounced.] Can I come in?
its perfect! (ok emoji)
Her room is starkly utilitarian. There is a bed, naturally, and a dresser, and a chair with a little end table next to it. All that decorates the place are little candy wrappers and dirty clothes littering the floors and, also precariously on the floor, cups partly full of water she never drank all of because she simply forgot about it or it turned to worms halfway through or something like that.
Alistair helps clean it sometimes, but the trickling mess always seems to encroach back on the space before long.]
Yes, but I'm naked, [she calls out from the bed, not turning away from the wall.
A beat.]
Joking. I do have clothes on. [She never took them off last night before crawling into bed. Barely slept, too. Some nights it's too noisy.] You can come in.
no subject
River is reassuringly covered - she'd said she was joking but he'd been worried that it would turn out she only thought she was dressed. Which would have necessitated running to get someone female to take over. But today at least he doesn't need the cavalry and so Alistair lets himself in and closes the door behind him. He steps around the worst of the mess to set his bundle on the table before turning to River and looking her over cautiously.]
Soo... Should I- Shh, I'm talking! [That's directed to Purrlock who's decided to join in the conversation as well. With a sigh Alistair scoops the cat out and deposits him on the floor to take his noise elsewhere. Turning back to River he tries again.] Do you feel like getting up or should I just get a tray? Hmm, having breakfast in bed doesn't sound half-bad come to think, does it? I wouldn't mind it personally. I'm not feeding you, just so you know. Not unless you ask really nicely.
[One dubious upside of his visits is that he's perfectly able to make conversation even without any input from River herself, if slightly nervous babbling can be considered conversation.]
no subject
Purrlock... It's okay, I'll listen to you.
[The presence of a cat giving her newfound energy, she tries to wriggle out of her blanket, but finds herself stuck.]
Um. Might get up, but I'm finding a problem with making the attempt.
no subject
Alistair meanwhile looks up from fussing with the food to blink at the blanket-wrapped bundle.]
Prob- You're stuck?
[He can't hide a snicker as that sinks in, wandering over to the bed to peer down at her.]
Should I try and unravel you?
no subject
She pulls an arm free.]
Purrlock, you won't laugh at me. You're concerned, I know it.
no subject
[He's so laughing. On the plus side, it's hard to be nervous around someone who's gotten stuck in their blanket cocoon.
Still snickering, Alistair watches as Purrlock jumps up onto the bed and begins rubbing up against her face, purring loudly.]
Concerned huh? [That's one way of looking at it.] I'll leave him to sort you out then.
[As soon as he says that though, he begins looking for an edge of one of the covers to begin pulling her free. Call it a hunch but he doesn't think the cat's concern is going to do much to help there.]

A sweet one. Shiny fur. Will surely attract a good mate.
[When Alistair finds the blanket edge, she lets him hold it while she rolls out, the blanket finally untangling just enough to step out of. She sits on top of it, almost triumphantly.]
Thank you, Purrlock.
no subject
[Was she really talking about his cat's future romance prospects? Well. Better Purrlock than him.
The blanket unrolls easily enough once he finds an edge, leaving River sitting free and... thanking the cat. Who happily accepts the praise and attention, purring even louder than before. Of course. With a snort, Alistair pitches his voice higher and squeaks out in response-] My pleasure, dear lady! Grey Wardens live to serve the people.
[In his normal voice again-] Oh, enough already, you. Or I'll leave you behind next time. Now, does anyone want some breakfast?
