+ FOURTH WALL EVENT: HOUSE PARTY +
Who: E V E R Y O N E
Where: Wonderland's Second Mansion, near the southern walls
When: Sept 1st to Sept 10th
Rating: G to PG-13 (please label higher ratings, thank you!)
Summary: It's a whole party mansion! Have a look inside, explore, make yourselves at home! And don't forget to have a look at the Fourth Wall Master Post for event rules, puzzle clues, and more places to mingle!
The Story:

Beginning on September 1st, something more than grass has suddenly grown near the southern walls. A second mansion has sprung up overnight! With only three floors and a strangely makeshift look about it it doesn't seem to compare to the original at first glance, but there's plenty enjoyment to be had inside!
The first floor houses a series of restaurants, diners, and coffee shops. No matter your style or intentions, this floor will find something to your taste! (Provided you, too, really love the colour red.) Of course all foods and services are free, and provided invisibly and without delay - no need to tip the unseen magical forces! ♥
The second floor is this mansion's beating heart - quite literally so! Disco beats shake this massive dancefloor 24/7, and the open bar provides party refreshments for responsible hydration and/or happy cocktail hour. Invisible DJ not playing your song? Man the turntables yourself, or sneak off into the karaoke corner! By the way, it doesn't take a keen observer to notice the common theme of this floor's design.
(Although it falls to the curious party guest to notice the peculiar paint splashes on one of the walls, and a little patience to stick around long enough for the travelling spotlights to reveal their message.)
Despite the busy party below, the third floor is surprisingly quiet, and pleasantly so. It invites crisp and clean comfort, be it to sit, to sleep, or to mingle in the comfy common rooms in front of their warm chimneys. From single bedrooms to large dormitories all guests have plenty of room to make use of fluffy pillows galore, be it to sleep on, to fight with, or to build.

Unconsciously, perhaps the allure of what he's fondly taken to calling the nap floor is what draws him up the stairs to the third floor. He's looking for something new to jumpstart the riddle-solving lobe of his brain, but he'll settle for a moment of peace and quiet.
... Peace and quiet? Sorry, he meant crying.]
Ah, sounds like the wild goose chase has gotten the better of someone else.

[ Another sob wrecks her. ]
They're all so long gone...
no subject
How... sad? I'm sorry for your loss.
[Side-stepping, the pillow misses him by a wide margin. He's just... going to leave that there. Yeah, that sounds like a plan.
With reluctance, he approaches the source of the sobbing, looking into the pillow fort. In the flesh, there rests the Duchess. In pieces. Literal pieces, head detached from her body and everything. Someone is clearly trying to live up to the phrase "falling to pieces."]
Why so sad... and headless? Did the thread not work?

It works quite well, I expect, it always has, wherever it is now.
[ A haughty wave of her hand, which- resembles an awkward rotation more. She uses the momentum to throw her head into the air, and catches it in front of her chest. The Duchess watches, now. ]
She hid it, the whole room, that heinous woman. You've shown me the path so well, my friend, and she threw away the destination. [ Ugh! ] What a rude thing to do!

He's getting used to this feeling of profound bemusement--it washes over him every time he has dealings with the Duchess. Maker forbid he ever grow accustomed to seeing someone throw a head around. That would just be weird.]
So you weren't able to find it, huh.
[That explains why she still has a head to throw around at all...]
She's more powerful than you at cloaking locations? I don't believe it. Surely you've got the edge on her.
[Is he stroking her ego on purpose? Yeah. You catch more flies with honey, etc., etc.]
no subject
[ Her tongue gives an irritable click. ]
I took her edge, because I tried to help you. She would have wanted me to try. Then she took her edge back, and look how I was rewarded!
[ She makes a chopping motion underneath her severed neck. She makes several chopping motions underneath her severed head, actually. Violently. For quite a while. ]

[Anders' eyebrow arches sharply. Head cut off. Gotcha. Message received loud and clear.
The only thing wrong with the story, he thinks, is the Queen of Hearts of the Duchess trying to pass themselves off as victims. She's violently putting a spin on events as violently as she's chopping her hand.]
You're talking about the Vorpal Sword, aren't you? Funny how all this helping us only seems to hurt us when push comes to shove... [Sorry, are Wonderland's reluctant guests supposed to care about the problems of this crazy collection of royalty? Oops. If so, he's been doing this all wrong.] We did what you wanted. You can't say we didn't try to help you, too. Is that what this event is about? You were waiting for the Mirrors to break so you could search the other side?

[ She grabs her head by the hair, and waves its grimace in Anders' direction, but the frothing goes as soon as it came, a jolt in her voice, and then a peculiar frown, like a musician who tries nothing more strange than to hit the proper melody. ]
You... have... it all... wrong. [ Stilted... stilted... there. She finds her tune. Like a jar of honey spilling out. ] You have it all wrong, I wish only the best for both sides. 'Tis unfortunate, but sometimes one needs to pepper a few omelettes to make breakfast, and I've never been too good in the kitchen.
[ Her head is still dangling, she notices, and so she pulls it up, just above her shoulders, so very nearly looking as though it could stay there on its own. ]
This is not my recipe. I find it all quite exuberant, though I like it in- [ Her head nearly slips. She catches it just on time. ] -parts. Parts, and none of them mine. Nor hers, I would be surprised if they were. I wonder myself, who thought this was a good idea...
no subject
Um. Okay. Omelettes, breaking eggs, I can see where you're going with this metaphor.
[Watching her ease back from her outburst is like watching a ferocious white tiger gradually shrink into one of the Royale toilet paper cats. Anders tilts his head owlishly, looking unsure at who he's talking to: the tiger or the kitten. Unsure who he wants to be talking to. Would the tiger show more of its true colors?
That there could be another force at work gives Anders a creeping feeling down his spine. He gives her slightly askew head a furrowed look.]
What could be more powerful than the both of you?
