Summary:

The third floor is a veritable den of iniquity, draped in curtains and swathes of billowing sheets, cushions strewn across most flat surfaces, shelf after shelf of books lining the walls that aren't filtering light in through cut and woodworked windows. There are private places here, secluded and dimly lit, the scent of incense curling through the air and the prospect of trysts in darkened corners.

It is warm, and dry, and inviting.

The people are friendly, of course, insofar as they are expected to be - with a hot-blooded, passionate reputation to uphold it is perhaps unwise to upset them despite their geniality. The vipers are pleasant until provoked.
