Come away little lamb; come away to the water

Who: Shaun and Georgia Mason and YOU???
Where: Sealed rooms, then water-filled corridors, then their room
When: During the event!
Rating: PG-13, character death, language
Summary: Shaun and George die and prove that every event can be a zombie event when they're around. And then afterward they hate everything.
The Story:

death scene - closed to shaun and george

It’s been a difficult few days, and constantly running out of air and then swimming somewhere where there is air has been taking a toll. They’re running low again, and Shaun is pretty goddamn tired of the whole thing, and he’s starting to feel light headed again. “You think this place is fucking with us, George? Maybe this is some kind of science experiment. How long we can chase air around? Because it fucking sucks.”

ZOMBIES IN THE WATER

[Zombies aren't as fast as humans on land. The good news is, they're even worse at swimming. The bad news is, they're not looking to feed. They're looking to infect. Sure, they'll bite you if they catch you, but even spit or their own blood is just as effective. And the more zombies they can make, the smarter they'll get.

Step right up and take your chances.]

back from the dead in the not eating people way.

George has experienced many things in her life. Being at a loss for words is a new one. But then again, so is dying, let alone waking up from being dead.

She's been staring at her laptop screen for ten minutes, but every time she starts typing, only nonsense comes out. Sometimes there are real words in the nonsense, but none of them come together how she wants them to. She knows what she wants to say. She always does. But somehow the concepts that are so clear in her mind aren't transferring into words.

Speaking's no easier, but there's one word she can manage as she shuts her laptop and looks up towards her brother almost desperately. "Shaun." He always understands what she isn't saying. It's all she can manage for now.

He looks up at the sound of her voice. He’s sitting on the bed in the corner of their office, keeping his distance from their technology at the moment. He’s already put a fist through a computer monitor that he’s going to have to replace, so that’s probably for the best. Not being able to talk is frustrating, because smartass remarks are his life, but not even being able to type is just infuriating.

He doesn’t speak--he doesn’t trust what’s going to come out of his mouth right now--but he does open his arms to her, inviting her to come over without the words that neither of them can seem to get out right.

[Feel free to stop by and check in, or check in over the network, but they're definitely grumpy right now, and communication will be a challenge.

Also, if they turned you into a zombie? They're both really sorry.]

[She told him to stay alive. He's been doing his best, even if that's really not high on his list of priorities and never really has been. Moving from room to room with a grim, locked-jaw efficiency, even though the pressure of the water over his head and the silence of each room he enters remind him of things best left forgotten.

So when he spots a couple of corpses floating in the hallways - it only takes him a moment realize he recognizes them. Both of them.

It takes him even less than that to put the pieces together and start swimming away.]

[The thing that used to be Georgia catches the movement out of the corner of its eye and starts to move, letting out a moan. At some point, her customary sunglasses have fallen off, leaving her eyes... well, not looking very different, but in this form, pain isn't something she's aware of anymore.

She can't move very quickly in the water, since zombies are creatures of all instinct and not much intelligence and swimming takes a little more intelligence to conceptualize. But that doesn't stop her from moving towards Tim in whatever capacity she can. There's food there, or potentially another zombie to add to the pack. Either way, the chase is on.]

[The both of them surge forward awkwardly, and at least he can thank that both their less intelligent "evil" sides are exactly that - less intelligent. They're not exactly swimming so much as they're simply meandering awkwardly through the water, and the resistance keeps them slow.

He's shit at swimming, but he can do a damn sight better than they can. He just needs - needs to get to a door. And not even think about opening his mouth. And stop moving so jerkily that he isn't really propelling himself forward as much as he should.]

[Evil implies a certain level of sentience that the zombies just don't have. All the thing that used to be George has is base instincts, and base instincts say this prey isn't moving as quickly as it could be. Instincts say to keep moving forward because their prey can't keep going as long as they can.]

[Their prey can't keep going as long as they can. Their prey also, thank fuck, reaches a door eventually, and gets it open - spills into a unflooded, mercifully unoccupied room with a choking gasp as he surfaces.

If he can get them both inside, and then close the door behind him -

He's just gotta be faster than they are.]

[It's not a bad strategy. Zombies can work doorknobs, but they're not fast at it, and they're certainly not smart enough to do anything but mindlessly shamble in their slow, waterlogged way towards the open door. With only two zombies, anyway. Any more and this could get a whole lot riskier.]

[They don't need to breathe, and that's one in their favor. And the thing that used to be Shaun snags at Tim's shirt, just for a moment. He jerks free, staggering back in the same moment.

Fuck, but he's not brave enough for this. He keeps backing away as he goes, poised to dive back into the hallway at the opportune moment.]

C-c'mon. Get inside, c'mon.

[The Georgia zombie lunges, stumbling into the room and speeding up without the water resistance getting in her way.]

[They're faster. Faster without the water pulling at their clothes and their flesh. His chest aches, his lungs heaving, but there's adrenaline hot in his blood and a survival instinct that he hates eating away at his brain. He gets a foot up and plants it square in the thing that used to be Shaun's chest, and shoves, aiming to slam him into Georgia so he can get the hell out and shut the door behind him.

Hopefully.]

[The zombie that used to be Georgia is a creature of all instinct and while she's not especially hungry, when something crashes into her she bites down. The flesh she gets is as dead as she is and she moans, a frustrated, hungry sound as she tries to push past Shaun and towards her living prey.]

[Success. The two of them flounder and stumble into one another for a moment, and it's the only moment he needs. He darts for the door, twisting as he slams it shut behind him and plunges back into the water.

With any luck, they won't be able to get it open again until he's well out of their range of vision.]

[The George zombie is still disentangling herself from Shaun. It won't take that much longer, but between that and actually working the doorknob, Tim has ample time to get away. By the time they get out, there's other prey closer by, and it's not like zombies hold grudges. They'll go for whatever's easiest.]
