Summary: Len does all right in space, mostly by doing wrong
The Story:

1. Space Bar

A bar is a bar is a bar. Leonard doesn't find anything drastically different about this place, except for the aliens and the ice seemingly not melting, which has his attention more than the actual drink. He stands a bit apart from most of what's going on, leaning against the wall by a table and watching no one in particular.

Although, if someone comes in at the right - or wrong - time, they may find him sending cold looks edging on outright glares in the direction of his partner, who's probably having a bit too good a time, at least in Leonard's opinion.

2. Space Museum

What came first, the stealing or the art appreciation? In Leonard's case - having been born into a criminal family - it was the stealing. These days, however? It's genuine appreciating for its own sake too. He looks at the building from the outside first, appreciating the architecture but, of course, also casing the joint. Force of habit or actually leading up to something, it's anyone's guess.

Later he can be found inside, both appreciating the exhibition and inspecting the alarm system and other safety measures, a connoisseur of both art and art theft. He's subtle enough about the latter, but someone in a similar business or otherwise experienced may be able to pick up on it.

"Doesn't always stop my partner and me either." So there's definitely a point there. When you know each other long enough, professionalism is really something that evolves into whatever's currently needed. It's also what has him relate to Seth thanking him. It's for Kate's sake that he's not done anything more extreme back then, but now that he's met the brothers as a unit, more may play into it in the future.

"Yeah, it's damn frustrating. Between the lack of banks, most events make my gun useless some way or another. Makes it hard to have some decent fun."

A lot of life for Seth should have been for Kate's sake, but he'd blown that before he'd ever hit Wonderland. He wasn't cheesy enough in his own head to think of it as a second chance, even if he was going to use it for that.

"The closet set up is nice and all, for basically just taking advantage of whoever the hell is behind this, but there needs to be something more in there between drinking and not dying." Which every job could mean death, but it wasn't the same as the events that seem designed to kill as many as possible.

"I wonder if whatever the hell is behind the rooms would set up a bank with security," he muses, making a face. "I can't believe I'm wishing for a hard to break bank just to practice."

"I gotcha, but it ain't the same, is it? Don't know what you get out of this, but..." Leonard has what he thinks of as his only chance at anything here in Wonderland, but that doesn't mean he's not aware of how lacklustre it is in many respects. Maybe it means he's more acutely aware. "Artificial challenges aren't the same thrill. Now, stealing from the Red Queen, that'd be a neat trick."

He's thought about it before, he just doesn't actually know where to even begin.

Seth falls quiet, considering this. He shifts, leaning in a bit closer to Leonard. "So... you believe she's real? I mean, I haven't been here long, but I just don't know what I believe about blind chicks and headless duchesses, you know?"

Because Leonard has his attention in that moment, considering that anything where they got one over on those that brought them to Wonderland held Seth's attention.

"Hard to say. What's real in a place like this anyway? I ain't sure how much real power she has and if she's more of a figment than a person, but she exists in some form. She's got a place." With a shrug, he can really only draw one conclusion from that. "Means that she has something, which means that something can be taken. Simple as that. Whether any of the surrounding factors make sense, that's a different question."

That is not the answer that Seth ever needs, and it will likely come back echoing in his head in the future. "Someone here has real power," he points out. "The Red Queen, or if she's the Wizard of Oz and there's someone behind the curtain we haven't found yet."

Though, all of this talk only has Seth considering, smiling slightly as he listened.

"You know, I think I don't hate you," he says, definitely smiling then. "After this job, we should definitely look into that fully. Set some things in motion."

Because obviously robbing from the Red Queen is brilliant, right?

"I think I don't hate you? You'll make me blush." Obviously Leonard's not big on blushing and his tone of voice gives that away as much as his expression does, but it's not keeping him from returning that questionable compliment. "I think I don't hate you either."

Isn't that the beginning of a wonderful friendship? "You're on. Let's get together some time."

Seth smirks though, nodding. "At least that's a start. One less person I have to entirely worry about at my back," he notes, considering Wonderland and the job they're looking at.

"And here I was thinking I was going to have to wait for events for a worthwhile job. I feel I let the place get to me not even thinking about making a hit on the creepy head honchos."
