[Crowley opens his mouth, then closes it. He lifts one hand, one finger extended, opens his mouth again, then closes it again. He looks at Elizabeth hard through his sunglasses, then lets his hand drop.]

... That is not normal.

[uncaging]

[It's almost as though she can see his entire thought process to get to that conclusion, and Elizabeth can't help but laugh a little.]

Of course not. But it's been very helpful to me in the past. Would you like to see?

Iiiii... don't know. Maybe.

[He doesn't look at all certain - even slightly suspicious - and yet...]

... Show me.

[uncaging]

[Elizabeth takes a couple of paces back, bracing herself for the effort that comes with opening a tear, and biting her lip in concentration. Slowly the air in front of them rips apart as though she were pulling open a pair of curtains, revealing a window on the other side.

It looks pretty much the same as the version of the Citadel that they're in, although it's completely deserted and the pattern of the stars is somewhat different.]

[Crowley stares at the tear. He stares at it, then slowly lifts his hand to pull off his sunglasses.

He tucks them over one of the buttons of his shirt and the slitted pupils of his eyes are blown to almost-rounded as he slowly, carefully circles the anomaly and peers through it from every angle.

When he reaches Elizabeth's side again, he retrieves his sunglasses, but doesn't put them back on.]

That--... that is... [Hum.] You are human. I'm sure of that.

[uncaging]

Quite human. [At least, she's fairly certain she is. She's not sure what she'd be otherwise.] I'm something of an anomaly.
