+ It's good that we can't see what isn't there +
Who: EVERYONE
Where: Wonderland and adjacent dimensions!
When: Friday, April 21st to Monday, April 24th
Rating: PG-13, warn if higher!
Summary: A place to list your tears throughout the event, and describe the worlds that can be seen or accessed through them. Event Post.
The Story:
While invisible zombies ravage Wonderland, tears are popping up everywhere! Through them characters can see versions of themselves from alternate universes. Some of them show a different version of Wonderland, some a different version of their home. Some are as benign as a character drinking coffee instead of tea, others are as drastic as somebody's entire personality changed completely.
On day one tears are so small as to barely even be recognisable. Faint voices and melodies can be heard through the tiny cracks if you step really close, but these brief and indistinct glimpses are barely even worth describing.
On day two tears have opened up wide enough to recognise them for what they really are. Yesterday's melodies will sound clearer, and the voices will become decidedly familiar, belonging to people characters know, sounding perhaps even like the characters themselves. Look through the tears and they may catch sight of home, or something that merely looks like another part of Wonderland. The tears are yet narrow and instable though, and the field of vision is correspondingly poor.
On day three the tears have grown a great deal. The worlds beyond them can be seen and heard, though most cannot be interacted with at all. Only the biggest ones are already stable enough for characters to stick their hand inside, and pulls through any objects within reach.
On the fourth and last day some tears have finally become large and stable enough for characters to pass through whole. Not all tears will reach this stage, but those who have can be visited, and the world beyond them explored... at each character's own peril.

This tear doesn't appear in any public place - the privacy of the moment itself lending to the privacy with which it appears, stretched across one of the walls in the middle of the Mikaelson common room. The scene itself is a familiar one, two young blond girls huddled in front a mirror, as the older of the two brushes through the younger's long blond locks, while an ornate bridal crown sits on the table nearby.
Rebekah straightens slightly, doing her best to sit still, but the excitement of the moment doesn't keep her from fidgeting, that much clear by the way her fingers twitch in her lap.
"Our brothers will be ready in time for the wedding, won't they?"
"Last I saw them, they were chasing a goat through the streets to sacrifice for the blessing - " The statement earns another burst of giggles from the girls, as Freya starts to plate Rebekah's hair into a delicate braided crown for the bridal one to rest on. " - so I am sure they have every intention to attend."
There's another moment of silence as Freya works, delicate fingers weaving flowers into each cross of her hair until her work is finished, before letting her hand rest on her sister's shoulder gently, that warm spark of familiar magic flowing between them. "You look beautiful, Rebekah."
Rebekah's hand comes up to rest over Freya's, giving it a small squeeze. "Do you think I'll be good at it? Being a wife?"
"I do," Freya's voice is soft, as she gives her shoulder a squeeze. "Just remember that just because you are his wife, does not mean you are not still Mikael's daughter. The blood of a warrior runs in our veins just as surely as that of a witch. If anyone tries to hurt your family, you remind them why witches are the villains in fairy tales."
Rebekah smiles at her sister through the mirror, and as she does, the door to the room slams open and in comes Kol, completely covered in mud and holding a wriggling goat in his arms. A wide grin crosses his face in the process. "Got him."
The girls roll their eyes and immediately throw the nearest pillows at him as he ducks back out the door. "Get out!"]

Freya got stuck with Dahlia. Rebekah was an immortal vampire. Neither one would get to have the sort of family they longed for. They never got to be normal.
And that is why this tear is one of the most difficult to watch. Moisture stings her eyes and her hand tightens around the glass of bourbon in her hand. What had started out as a leisurely afternoon discussing the latest book in their sisterly bookclub had become something much more tangible.
What strikes her most is how happy they had looked. When was the last time anyone in their family had looked happy. Content without a worry in the world. Magic runs in the family but they are warriors more than anything else these days. They've had to be, to survive as long as they have.
But there is a cost to simply surviving, one they both know too well.
Seconds stretch into minutes of silence and finally Rebekah breaks the ice.]
Sometimes I think Wonderland goes out of it's way to find new ways to be cruel to us.

She glances over at her sister as she speaks, before reaching over to take her hand.]
We could still have that day one day.
[It would not be simple to find, but she has faith that her sister will find what she's looking for one day.]
Maybe not the way it is here, as I believe we are beyond sacrificing goats to the gods, but ... that moment is not beyond our reach.

Marriage isn't exactly practical for a vampire.
[even if her partner was also a vampire...forever is a long time to promise to anyone, and not something most people want, especially not from her.]
no subject
[And sometimes, practicality is overrated.]
I have faith you will find love some day, Rebekah. It's out there somewhere.
no subject
[Especially when that love involves Rebekah who thinks with her heart first and her brain second, acting on impulse and not looking at the bigger picture.]
I certainly hope so. [There's a pause and then.] I hope that you can find it as well.

My happiness was always in finding my family.
[She had a chance to build one of her own once, and she's not sure if she can go down that path of pain again.]
If it's meant to be, then ... perhaps. But even if it doesn't, I'm simply glad I have all of you.
no subject
[After all, Freya isn't going to lose them now.
Rebekah, as much as she loves her family, has always longed for more than just that, for a life and love of her own but it's never gone far, for better or worse.]
no subject
I know. I'll find it when I know that we are safe.
[Whether that's here, in Wonderland, or at home she can't really say. But it's at least a start.
Even if both of them know that the Mikaelsons will never be safe.]

You do have a point. Though there is some merit to finding the right person.
[She makes a face.]
Though the last person who tried to gain my affection was Lucien Castle, and I think it's fairly safe to say that he was not my type.

Well in my opinion none of the Trinity were exactly dating material, you dogged a bullet.
no subject
I believe you.
[She then takes a deep breath.]
And I do think that Klaus has outgrown his tendency to compel away any friends I may bring home after dancing.
no subject
He killed most of mine. [A pause.] He did compel Stefan though.
[Another pause.]
But when he discovered I had interest in someone here he did promise to me he would not hurt him.

Perhaps our brother is growing up after all this time? Not that that erases anything.

Hopefully he'll learn a bit faster when it comes to Hope's potential suitors.
