Cisco's aim isn't perfect. The blast catches Kay enough to send him stumbling backwards onto the ground and he just manages to bit back on a startled yelp. As soon as the attack is over he leaps back to his feet, eager to incapacitate Cisco before he gets attacked with another blast.

He scoots further away from where the blast struck and rushes toward Cisco from his new location. If Cisco doesn't notice him, Kay will try to knock Cisco to the ground by sweeping the other man's legs out from under him.
