The Story:

[Lucifer continues to be here almost every night. Perhaps he doesn't need to be; he doesn't care who takes what from behind the bar and the place nearly runs itself, but he enjoys it here. He likes to noise and the presence of others. He likes to watch and learn and exist in a space that occupies more than just himself.

So in the aftermath of some not so pleasant moments in Wonderland, he's doing what he does best; getting other people drunk and doing whatever he feels like doing in any particular moment.

Feel free to stop by and have a drink with him. Or bother him upstairs in his penthouse suite after hours. He's fine with either.]

[He gestures to the stool beside him.]

Join me. What can I do for you?

[That was all Seth needs and he slides onto the stool beside Lucifer.]

So, seems I met a friend of yours a while back. Mostly was hoping going after her would mean I found the tank supposedly out there but didn't happen.

[He found a friend though, even if admitting that feels odd and wrong.]

I have quite a few friends. Care to elaborate?

[The 'her' doesn't really narrow it down much.]

Fair enough. This one's from home though. Chloe Decker. I thought I had it bad arriving in the attic, but at least it was lit.

Spoken to her a few times since she got here. For a cop she's not half bad.

Ah, the Detective! I didn't realize you helped her out of those blasted caves.

[He grins brightly.]

I happen to be her partner back in Los Angeles. We've solved all sorts of horrible crimes together.

Yeah well, I've been exploring them for a while. Hoping to find a mythical tank someone said is in there. Not sure why I want to, but the challenge of searching for it has proven interesting.

[It iss as close as a job as he is getting in Wonderland, and the lack of them is driving him a bit stir crazy even with events.]

So she's told me. Got to admit, never thought I imagined the devil helping a cop solve crimes. I suspect most think you're just causing them, don't they?

Nothing wrong with finding something to occupy your time.

[That's what they're all doing, after all.]

I don't know what most people think. I'm not a mind reader. Besides, you're assuming most of them even believe me.

No banks and hardly any security. Got to do something.

[Other than drink.]

I believed you. Still do. Much to Chloe's chagrin. Everyone here just seems to accept so much. I never got a chance to learn what people believed back home before I ended up here.

Yes, well, this place is just full of crazy. It's hard to deny when you're surrounded on all sides.

I'm hoping she figures that out pretty quick. For her own sake.

[Which is why he was so honest with her from the start. Without believing in things like Lucifer and the culebera and zombies and all of it, the chances of being hurt were too high, and damn her for making him care if she got her.]

No offence or anything but she crooked? I mean, not because of you but because of how she reacted to some things I told her. Just between you and me. I'm not bothered if she is, but she was pretty open about me carrying and some other things.

She's quite quick on the uptake in regards to most things. She'll be just fine.

[He'll see to that, as well.]

Actually, she's almost obnoxiously the opposite. She's one of the most well-intentioned people I've ever met.

[Seth considers that, making a face and shaking his head.]

That explains that, and makes her a prime target for this place. That's just great.

[Because he kind of cared if she got hurt by this place.]

Well-intentioned and Wonderland seem polar opposites, though everyone seems to be helpful to others. [Which is still odd to him.] You're going to keep an eye on her, right?

[His brows furrow as if that's one of the silliest questions he's ever heard.]

Of course, I am.

[What else would he do?]

Oh don't give me that look. Come on. I like you but you don't entirely come with a reputation for guarding cops.

[Sorry, even someone that's your fan isn't entirely thinking that falls into Lucifer's job description.]

Not that I read much of the bible, so maybe I'm wrong.

And here I thought I'd already proven that most of my reputation is somewhat fabricated.

[He shrugs.]

I have every intention of making sure the Detective is safe. You have my word.

Oddly enough, you really have. One of Wonderland's best surprises. Most of the rest of them suck.

[He gave a nod to that.]

I know this is going to sound stupid, and none of my business, but I know this place keeps you busy but make some time to spend with her. She talks about you a lot.

I do try to make the place a bit less boring, at least.

[Or dreary. Liquor is good at that, sometimes.]

I'd be happy to do that, actually. I can always make room in my schedule for the Detective. [His brows lift.] Oh? What kinds of things does she say?

And cheers to that.

[Said with a lift of his glass and a drink.]

Good. Glad for that. [He chuckles.] Well, talking coming back from finding her in the cave, she doesn't believe you're who you say you are, and isn't sure why I believe you. And then a lot about how no matter who you are, you're a good man who makes her a better person.

To sum a lot of it up.

[His head tilts as he listens, looking rather pleased with Seth's revelations into the mind of the Detective.]

Really? [He seems surprised, however.] Interesting.

I suppose it might be.

[Especially if she hasn't told him any of the things like she hinted at.]

But I just thought I'd pass that along. For her sake, or something.
