This would usually be the part where Georgia would tell him what to do. It's what she's good at. Figuring out what needs to be done and telling people and expecting them to take care of it or face her disappointment. She's not just bossy, she's the boss, and if being kept too busy to think about anything else is what you're after, she can arrange that.

Not right now, though. She wishes there were something for her to do. If getting revenge on the troll could bring her peace, she'd be out there right now, ready to fight something that was at least three times her weight, maybe more. But that won't help. Nothing will help. Except patience and waiting for Shaun to come back.

Jay snorts, dropping his face into his hands.

Maybe there's no other option. Maybe waiting's all they can do, just sit and wait and waste away until the pale shape under the sheet sits up and joins them.

They're probably gonna need something to eat eventually. But now's not "eventually" yet.
