Summary: Ryoko exploring the gardens!
The Story:

Today, Ryoko can be found outside, strolling around the gardens with her notebook open, writing down her observations and notes about it. She thinks she should have had notes on this place, but there's nothing in her book. There's some notes about a flood during a prior event, so maybe they were lost then?

Or maybe she never wrote anything down beyond that the gardens existed. Most of her notes about Wonderland's geography pertain to inside the mansion, so she must've thought this place wasn't important. It had nothing to do with her.

But she did write that she was going to try and not write things off as having nothing to do with her as often as she used to, and yes the note's old, but since she noticed it again today, she's trying to correct what was probably an oversight on her part.

So she'll be spending most of her day out here, this way when she forgets about this place again, she'll at least have her notes to fall back on if she decides to visit this part of the grounds again.

"I don't remember."

That's going to be a pretty typical answer from her. About a lot of things. But it's always the right answer from her. So she'll go back to checking her book to see if there's anywhere she's missed.

"But it doesn't look like it? Outside of places like the caves, but I don't think I'm cut out for exploring places like that."

The funny thing is, with her talent, odds are she wouldn't really get lost. But that's something she can't really remember at the moment either.

Huh, just the garden, then? Come to think of it, he hasn't tried going far inside the caves before. Well, that's one place he can try exploring another time.

"But if the flood can ruin your notes... maybe you oughta make some copies of it before anythin' happens. It'll be hard for you if you lose it, right?" Then again, if the flood comes again, as long as they're on paper, they'll be ruined. Mondo ponders for a moment, before an idea hits his mind, pounding his fist on his other palm. "ーRight! You can put the copy in a ziplock!"

"Oh, that's a good idea!"

She's not sure if she's heard that one before, but there's nothing about it in her notebook, so she probably hasn't? Or if she did, she didn't write it down. Or it didn't get copied over. Lots of possibilities here.

"Let me write that down before I forget."

Mondo watches her noting it down, snorting from his nose in a mild amusement. "You're gonna forget you wrote that down. You better do it while you still remember."

"I don't think I can find one before I forget."

She's made some other comments like that today, not that she remembers. And most of them have been jokes. But this one's not. She's pretty serious about it.

"So I should still write it down, just in case."

Ah... The amusement turns into a mild annoyance. This chick, what's she gonna do if people leave her on her own? He clicks his tongue. "Alright, come with me. Let's get some from a closet now, while I'm here."

Good question, Mondo! What does Ryoko do when she's left alone? If anyone ever finds the answer, maybe they'll let Ryoko in on it too since it's not like she remembers.

"All right. Wait...where are the closets again?"

Mondo gestures for her to follow him as he walks away from the gardens, towards the mansion. "The bedrooms. And some of the rooms that're open to public. My room's at the eighth floor, if you don't mind goin' that far."

"The eighth floor. Got it."

Don't mind her, she's just writing that down. She tries to keep a list of where everyone from the Academy stays. That way she doesn't get lost if she goes to visit friends. Or if there's some sort of emergency which is equally likely given Wonderland.

"And I don't mind. I don't remember doing anything else anyways."

She's already forgotten what she was doing before.

'Got it' she said, but does she really get it?

Mondo leads the way with the worry at the back of his mind, checking up on her once in a while. He just hopes she doesn't forget what she's doing with him halfway through and ends up wandering somewhere else.

After the first two floors, he asks to make sure. "You still remember who I am?"

"Um..."

That's a no, so she goes back into her noteboook to check.

"You're...um...Mondo Oowada! Right?"

Not that he doubts her memory problem, but it really sinks in him how true that is right now. "Yeah. And I'm not some sketchy guy, I'm walking with you to find a closet to get you some ziplock for your notebook." Just in case she forgets that too.

He'll repeat this if it seems necessary, like if she looks confused or lost. The trip to the eighth floor takes slightly longer than usual because of this, but it's more concerning if she suddenly screams for help or shit like that. Thankfully, Otonashi is... like her name, 'soundless'. She's pretty calm and composed in general, from what he sees so far.

"Aight, we're here. My room."

He'll open the door wide for her and walk straight in. His room seems to be considerably empty despite being vast, with one humongous bed smack in the middle, occupying the majority of the space. There are various woodwork on display on a coffee table at one corner of the room, as well as some unfinished pieces laying around. Some magazines can be seen poking out from under the bed ー all of them seem to be the motorbike kind.

"This is the closet. You've got one in your room too, and you can ask for anythin' from it. ...Though I guess you probably have that noted down on your book, right?" She's a Wonderland senior to him, after all.

After his explanation, he doesn't wait to open up the closetー

"Whoa?!"

ーonly to be flooded with ziplocks.

Losing his balance from one that slips under his foot, he falls back on his bum quite unceremoniously, with another ziplock hitting his corncob as a finish. Well, he did ask for more, but they don't need this much... "Goddammit." Hopefully Otonashi is far enough from danger?!

With the crash she turns around, she'd been inspecting the woodwork and not really paying attention to what Mondo was saying or the ziplock bag apocalypse. And that's how things are for Ryoko, if she's not looking at it, it's like she has no idea it happened or how it happened.

So when she sees it, she's surprised, not really concerned for Mondo because they're just plastic bags, they're not dangerous, it's just...wow, that's a lot of bags.

“Um...are you okay? Did you slip?”

Part of her wants to ask why he needs so many bags since with all the excitement she's forgotten why they're here, but she's not sure if that would be rude or not. So instead of that, she thinks a better question might be...

“Do you need help with those?”

Well, at least Otonashi's safe, so that's... fine. Mondo's fine. It's nothing big, if not dumb. He doesn't waste too much time to get up after trying to shove some of them back to the closet and away from his path.

"Yeah, 'm good."

The question earns her an eyebrow raise from him, but not for long because ah yes, he realises: the memories.

"Check your notebook. How many should we get you? Five should be more than enough, right?"

“Um...”

She'll check because she's not sure what she'd need them for. Let's see, let's see. Oh, here's a recent note. They were going to get bags to put her notebooks in in case something happened to them. That explains the avalanche. Okay, it doesn't entirely explain the avalanche, but it does explain why they got them, and means that Mondo isn't the keeper of all the Ziplock bags in Wonderland or something like that.

“According to this, I have two notebooks I'm using right now, but I do have some blank spares. So five should work for now.”

Ryoko, were you waiting for him to introduce himself as the Super High School Level Ziplocker...

The one time he tries to help someone out, this happens. He probably can start some business with all these bags, goddamn... "Okay, there." Handing over five, he sighs. Shoving them back to the closet didn't work, and as useful as Ziplock bags can be, he has a feeling he'll never use it up. "If you need more, you can get some from the closet, but... just ask from me next time, I don't need this much." She might not remember to note that down, or even if she does note them down, she might forget to check her note before getting one, but he figures it's worth a try. "Do you know how to go back?"

Hey, it could be a thing.

“I think so.”

She'll just pocket the bags for now, while checking her notes with her other hand. Hooray for multitasking and apparently being used to doing things like that without actually remembering that she's used to balancing her notebook and doing other things at the same time.

“This says I live on the second floor, so I should be okay. And...”

Give her a second, she'll take a moment to write down that if she needs more notebook bags, she can get them from Mondo Oowada on the eighth floor.

“Thanks too. I wouldn't have thought of this on my own. And if I did, I probably would've forgotten before I wrote it down.”

'Should be okay'? That's... not very convincing, but she's no kid, she'll be fine. He guesses.

"Ah? O, oh, yeah... 's, 's nothin'." Appreciation isn't what he was going for, so that caught him off-guard. "Careful on your way back, then." He sure hopes no one tricks her or something like that. That'd suck, he can't imagine living without being able to remember a thing.

"Don't worry, I'll be careful! I haven't gotten lost yet."

Actually...

"Or if I have, I don't remember."

And then Ryoko was never seen again.

Okay, no, she'll be fine. She'll make it to her room without getting too lost. Thank goodness she has instructions in her notebook.

Well that's even more unconvincing.

"......"

But he'll trust her judgment, surely she's jotted some stuff down that notebook. He can always check the second floor later if it still bother him.

"...'kay. See ya."

He'll watch her back, at least until she can't be seen anymore in the hallways, then closes his door.
