[Closed] The sweetest summer gift of all

Who: After the End Times staff
Where: Floor 9, room 69.
When: 10/19
Rating: PG/PG-13
Summary: Auntie Maggie summons everybody over for dinner and movies.
The Story:

Everyone on the After the End Times staff received a message this morning.

Hello After the End Times staff,

I'm Maggie Garcia, and I've taken over as head of the Fictional department.

I still haven't met all of you, and with our crew as small as it is here in Wonderland, that hardly seems reasonable. Come by floor 9, room 69 this evening for a very informal staff meeting. Introductions, dinner, and a relaxing movie night. I'm currently taking requests for both food and films, though I reserve the right to veto the latter. I have to draw the line somewhere.

See you later, darlings!

--

True to her word, Maggie spent the afternoon cooking. (She likes cooking; why order from the closets what she could make herself?) A meal is laid out honoring any requests she got, and the public half of her room has its usual assortment of comfortable antique chairs and couches, plus a projector screen set up for movies once they're done eating and talking.

She also has a popcorn maker and plenty of ammunition for it. No movie night is complete without popcorn.

((Feel free to use this post as a mingle. Post top levels, tag around, etc! If anyone wants to respond to Maggie's initial message, you're also welcome to do that, just specify in the subject line.))

"That would be a fucking tragedy. Those cakes were amazing." He grins at her. "Definitely better avoid pissing her off. No gunshots then. But what else could you possibly need me for?"
choosetruth: (in a few hours by dawns early light)

He's such an asshole. Good thing she isn't opposed to playing dirty herself. "Isn't it obvious?" She steps in a little closer, giving him a look only he'd know is suggestive as her fingers slide down his arm.

Then she puts her empty Coke can in his hand. "Someone's got to keep me caffeinated."

"I am the office intern." He smirks and takes the can. "I guess if that's the only thing you need me for..."
choosetruth: (who's also blind and mute and dead)

"I'm sure I can think of something." She smirks back at him. "Asshole."
adaptiveimmunities: (Really?)

He makes a thoughtful noise. "True. I mean--you might need copies made. Do interns still make copies?"
choosetruth: (armies of guys)

[personal profile] choosetruth 2017-11-03 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Does anyone make copies? We can just print files multiple times if we need to waste that much paper." She rolls her eyes, tugging idly at his shirt.
adaptiveimmunities: (pretty please george?)

"Well, I could answer your e-mails, but I don't think either of us really want that." Especially since he doesn't even answer his own e-mail if he can avoid it.
choosetruth: (that stands side by side)

"Don't you dare come near my emails, asshole." She gives him a stern look, but it melts away as she leans in closer. It's nothing outside the bounds of propriety, of course. Even if only just barely.

"We both know what you want to help me with," her voice is a low murmur. She doubts anyone can hear, if they're listening, but it's still much more daring than she's ever been in public before. "But it's not something I'd ever ask of an intern. It would be an entirely inappropriate abuse of power."

It's thrilling not caring if anyone figures out their secret or not. She's never been able to flirt this openly, and she loves it.
adaptiveimmunities: (okay but)

[personal profile] adaptiveimmunities 2017-11-06 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, but George, what if I liked it?" He smirks back at her. His own voice isn't any louder than hers, though he stays just barely within the bounds of propriety as well. "What if I need you to boss me around to make sure that I do everything you need me to?"
choosetruth: (you makes the front page)

[personal profile] choosetruth 2017-11-06 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
He is such an asshole, especially to talk to her like this when she isn't wearing her sunglasses. Combined with her now normal eyes it's far, far too easy to read her reaction to him.

"It's a really good thing you like me bossy."
adaptiveimmunities: (in bed)

"I love you bossy, George." He leans in to give her a very brotherly kiss on the cheek. "Let me go get you that coke."

The look she shoots him as he walks away is not particularly sisterly. She's known and loved him her entire life. How can he still make her heart flutter like this? "That's why you're my favorite intern."
