Summary: A catch all for the Horrible Memory Truth Event!
The Story:

For the duration of this event, everyone's entire room will be replaced with a memory playing on loop. They will likely recognize the moment as soon as they see it – it is a moment they remember as the worst moment of their entire lives. It could be a memory from home or something that happened in Wonderland. Lengths of the memories will vary, but they will find that these are not memories they can merely watch – they can step into these memories and attempt to make changes to them, and the memories will be long enough that they have time to make changes (though no more than 24 hours). However, anyone who tries will find that it is futile. No matter what you do or how hard you try, the outcome is always exactly the same somehow. No changes you make will prevent that horrible outcome. It just happens over and over and over again no matter what you do.

On top of that, perhaps complicating any attempts to make changes, everyone will be forced to be honest for the duration of the event. No lies or half-truths are allowed, and filters will be gone for the entire five days. If something bothers someone then they will blurt it out, regardless of whether or not it hurts someone's feelings, and no one will be able to simply keep quiet when they have something to say. They must be truthful and honest with every word they say.

This is a catch-all log for all of your Worst Memory needs! Please mark your threads clearly in the subject line with your character's name and Room Number + Floor for character rooms, or just location if you're making a top level for a public place in the mansion (like the tea rooms or the kitchen) so people can see if there's already a thread available. And here's the plot post if you need it!

He holds his teacup in his hands, not drinking from it.

"So, there you are. Remain in some semblance of peace, or come to a violent end. I really see little else."

"Sometimes I think I deserve that too."

A bit more candid than is typical, but Wonderland has elected to have them speak their mind. And so, for once, they aren't silent. They aren't standing there solemnly with their head bowed, letting other people talk. They aren't able to shuffle it aside with blanket apologies and forgiveness that they apparently don't mean.

God, but why don't they mean it?

[Don't get cute Lab monkey. He isn't put off in the slightest. If anything he moves a chair over and has a seat.]

Enemy agent? [Really?] Everyone is having a lousy day today. What is loading up yours? What are you working on?

Why would I waste my time doing that? [Not that Damian knew how to be even if he wanted to...and, okay, sometimes he did want to. To just get Grayson and father to stop being so concerned about him turning out wrong because he couldn't be a normal kid.]

Couldn't even if I wanted to anyway. [He...did not want to say that last bit. He shakes his head, narrowing his eyes.]

Like Superman? Are you an alien too? Or not human? [He supposed everyone here was an alien since this was no one's real home planet anymore.] Powers are not that uncommon here you know. The secret identity thing here is kind of pointless too.

Still getting used to that last one...anyway, if you don't give me a reason to reveal it, then I won't. [He'll just store it for later blackmail material. Ya know. Just in case.]

Believe me, I have been doing my best to avoid just that. Under the circumstances, I can't make any promises but believe me... I'm trying.

[Natasha doesn't want to get personal anymore than Daisy.]

[At that moment, it felt as though time froze. She wasn't expecting to be called by her first name, especially from Ishimaru.

She's stunned to silence for a few short moments. Her eyes continue to water up with tears as she listens to his heartfelt words.]

K... Kiyotaka-kun.

[Unexpectedly, his first name rolls off her tongue. It was a surprise that his first name felt almost natural to say outloud.]

Hearing all of that means so much to me. I can't begin to thank you enough for your kindhearted words. I... I want you to be by your side as well.

[Finally, she manages to step closer to him, breaking off the distance from earlier.]

Because of you, I feel like I'm becoming a better person. It makes me really happy that you still think I'm a good person despite everything. B-But.... I'll continue to improve. For you and the others.

How so? I enjoyed every moment of it.

"Perhaps." Father could be understanding when he wasn't being a stubborn ass.

"I'm aware of the 5 deaths rule here, I never said I'd kill you." Monsters, as well as people, could be so dramatic. "Though listing your abilities is quite helpful." Damian nodded approvingly. "But I swore to my Father that I would always seek to find a different way to stop my foes." It was a strange conversation, but with Damian, things were rarely if ever, normal.

"You'd live, but I'd find a way to stop you. I'm clever and I like a challenge.” He shrugs, but his words are confident. “But don't go killing again. The humans here... are not threatening." He glances over at the door. "Sorry around your children."

He thinks he hears his name and ducks further behind the tree, making himself as small as possible. Doesn't want to see or talk to anyone right now, not when he can barely even think and his skull feels like it's about to split in half. Doesn't want to upset Tim any further. Doesn't want to get in the way. He'll need to come out eventually and let Max know that she didn't, haha, accidentally kill him or anything. Not right now.

He can't hear them that well, anyway. He's several feet away and they're talking quietly enough that it's just a murmur of conversation. He's not eavesdropping. That's good. It's easier to think of absolutes like that right now than to try and parse what must have just happened, why Max must have rewound. At least it doesn't hurt quite as much this time.

Sans just stays quiet and waits for it to pass.

No? It doesn't work at all then? Pity. [That sounds like a useful power. This child also sounds more like a computer program than a human.]

Dying and resurrecting as common as eating where you come from then? [He starts to lead Frisk away from his door when the sound of his own death scream starts to grate on his nerves.]

[Slowly,] maybe it's...bad memories?

[What was it Alice had said? Something about the "worst thing." Maybe she was being literal, for once. He'll be able to confirm it once he goes and checks his own room.]

...i didn't know he'd...i mean, i knew he was wandering around wonderland pretending to be you, but i didn't know he'd done...this.

[It sets off a cold sort of anger down deep in his soul. Mirrorton has been a damn nightmare from the very start, it seems.]

[He's quiet for a bit, watching Mettaton sort through the truth.]

listen, it's...easier if you just don't try to fight it. i had a truth thing happen to me two events ago. there's no point in resisting.

[God, he's done this already, why does Wonderland want to put him through it a second time? Hasn't he already ruined enough relationships with the unbridled truth? Toriel hasn't said a word to him since then.]

[Mettaton snaps at him and Sans takes an involuntary step backward, still feeling jumpy everything that just happened.]

you're right. that is something. but it says something more about you than it does about him. and--i don't want to have this argument again. it just makes you angry, and then i feel guilty, and i feel like it just pushes you closer to him, which i don't want, because he--scares me.

[Not what he wanted to say there, but whatever. That's truth events for you. He gives a tired sigh.]

why does wonderland do anything it does? just...come on. if it's just gonna repeat, then...let's go somewhere else, okay? before he comes out again.

For me. For everyone else, too, but they didn't know it.

[They shrug, and let him. The shrill sound of a young boy howling his last cuts across their ears, but they hardly flinch. They keep talking fluidly, as though wondering if the volume of someone else crying their last will make the burden of their next words any easier to bear.]

I killed them a lot.

[Damian pauses to look down as Frisk. That was a sudden conflict for someone that spoke of wanting to help people.]

Why? Didn't you say you wanted to help people?

[sonofab]

Of course. [What a stupid question. They were superpowers, he was invulnerable, fast, and all around unbeatable. No, stop, trying this being a good friend thing.]

But they weren't me. [Because pain and suffering are what taught him to be who he is. Would he change it? In a heartbeat, but it was he was and there is no changing that.

He takes a cookie and pops it into his mouth.]

I didn't always. Or I told myself I did.

[They sound decidedly nonplussed about all of it. It's practically rote at this point. They confess their sins and then wonder when those consequences will come. And when they do come, they can hardly bear it. For all their eagerness to punish themself, it's harder, it seems, when someone else is willing to take up that mantle like they keep insisting they should.]

I think some part of me still thinks that by trying now, I can make up for what I've done. But I know I can't, really.

All anyone has ever been to Him is a pawn. Nothing is going to change that.

[The tension in his shoulders hasn't faded; this is delving into topics that he'd rather not think about, let alone discuss. But, apparently, Wonderland has other ideas.]

The majority of them torture themselves with their own guilt and needed very little help from me. I imagine there are plenty of demons eager to deal with those who need a bit extra prodding. [The ones who were terrible and don't have the guilt they deserve.] But you don't belong there, Detective. Not even remotely.

As for who's running it, that's not my problem anymore.

I know you're tougher than me! [He leans forward on his knees.] We're a team. I'd be totally dead without you. But you don't think! I have to think for both of us and sometimes it gets so tiring.

[Oh wow, Sayaka was not expecting this to happen. While she was nervous about what she might see in Mikan's room, she knew that no matter what; her opinion on her friend would not change.

She gently squeezes onto her hand to give her comfort. If Mikan was willing to show her whatever it is, then Sayaka made a promise. She would tell her about the horrible crime that she committed back during the Killing Game.

Because... she felt like she could fully trust her.]

Don't worry, I'm here for you. No matter what, I won't abandon you.

[Which is probably hypocritical, but hey. Sometimes the truth is more hypocritical than you want it to be.]

[ Chloe huffs a breath, but she doesn't argue. There's not much point in arguing with Lucifer when he gets like this, especially when it comes to his father. He felt the way he did, and no amount of prodding or poking from Chloe is going to change that, no matter how much faith she tries to have in what's in store for him. ]

I guess we'll see. You don't exactly make your father out to sound like the understanding type. [ She tilts her head, offering a him a comforting smile, as if he is the one that needs it. ] Besides, no matter where I end up, it sounds like you won't be there, anyway. [ Even if things don't work out at home, even if they are never together... For the first time, knowing there is an afterlife, it bothers her. All the stories of being surrounded by friends and family, knowing she might get to see her father again, it helps. But knowing she won't have her friend anymore is hard to accept. ]

I'm sorry, I know this isn't the easiest thing for you to talk about.

[He frowns. Did he? He'd been in a pretty big hurry to get out. Seeing his worst memory will do that to a guy.]

I'm not sure. I usually do. But it's not like any of my stuff can be stolen right now.

It might keep people out. Keep them from seeing your very worst day.

[That strikes them as uncharacteristically incautious of him. Isn't he supposed to be the paranoid, overly careful one? Doesn't he always have the rational solutions, the frantic need to assert that he's always in control of the situation?]

[Whatever's behind his door must have him rattled. Really and truly.]

There was a moment, before her conscious mind caught up to the rest of her, as someone gently touched her shoulder, that there was nothing but terror and fear on her face; memories of what she'd relived in her room all too close to the surface. But her mind moved quickly nowadays, and she blinked up at him for a moment as she realized where she was.

Asleep in the library.

Shyly, she tucked her hair behind her ear and gave him a tired smile. "Thanks. I... thanks."

That would imply a level of sentience that I'm really not comfortable with applying to an entire world, however small that world might be.

[He lowers his eyes down to the drop beneath them. Feet hanging over the edge, it could be dizzying, but Crowley has taken falls much more dramatic than that and survived well enough. Had they pissed the place off? That would really depend on how you wanted to consider the nature of Wonderland, and how much of it was actually sentient, and then what form and complexity that sentience actually took...]

Though I can't say there doesn't seem to be a certain malice about it all.

[He prefers to be somewhere indoors, with other people, if he can, but most of the time it's just not possible. Dan makes a small gesture for the boy to join him by the fire.]

Stop if I find somewhere... Ain't too safe t' travel the wasteland at night. Gotta jus' keep walkin' if there's no shelter.

[Damian settles on the ground by the warmth of the fire. It had been awhile since he'd made an outdoor camp. The last time he was maybe 8? It was during his year of blood trail when he was casing out a temple on a frozen mountaintop. Good times.]

Wasteland? That your homeworld? [That... didn't sound good.] What happens at night?
