Day 1, October 27 | Room 100, floor 6 | Closed to Minato
[Waking up in a room in Inaba's only hospital was warning enough that this wasn't going to be a pleasant event. He didn't even have to get up and look around. He knew the room. He knew who would be in the room, even without the pulse of the heart rate monitors.
But he still gets to his feet and turns his eyes around the scene in front of him. Nanako looked so small... He reached out, fully expecting to be unable to touch her, and so it startled him when his hand met hers and it was warm under his fingertips. She didn't seem to notice, with as much pain as she was in, but he still yanked his hand back as though she'd screamed.
His alarm wore off within the few breaths it took to regulate his heartbeat. He knew this wasn't where he ought to be. He was the only one there, other than the very real phantom child in front of him. He'd go find Minato and then Kanji and see where to go from there.
Leaving his room, he found himself not in the hallway, but in an alcove. The door behind him was marked 100a. In front of him is 100b. That must be where Minato was. Taking a breath, unsure what he was going to see, he knocked.]
Day 2-5, October 28-31 | The Diner, floor 8 | OTA
[After the first day and an unpleasantly cathartic but necessary talk with Minato, which he's sure he'll feel better about when this is over, Souji installs himself in the diner. There is food there, there are other people there, and there are no uncomfortable memories. Sure, he still has to tell the truth about anything that comes to mind, but that's easier around people he isn't as close to. They're not expecting much from him but coffee and food, most of them, so it's unlikely he'll get into any Uncomfortable Situations here.
Over the course of four days, he's there, taking orders, cooking, cleaning up after people. He sleeps in the kitchen. Unless asked to or made to, he has no intention of leaving. Somewhere this familiar is comforting when he's feeling such an alien sensation as vulnerability.]
