Summary: A catch all for the Horrible Memory Truth Event!
The Story:

For the duration of this event, everyone's entire room will be replaced with a memory playing on loop. They will likely recognize the moment as soon as they see it – it is a moment they remember as the worst moment of their entire lives. It could be a memory from home or something that happened in Wonderland. Lengths of the memories will vary, but they will find that these are not memories they can merely watch – they can step into these memories and attempt to make changes to them, and the memories will be long enough that they have time to make changes (though no more than 24 hours). However, anyone who tries will find that it is futile. No matter what you do or how hard you try, the outcome is always exactly the same somehow. No changes you make will prevent that horrible outcome. It just happens over and over and over again no matter what you do.

On top of that, perhaps complicating any attempts to make changes, everyone will be forced to be honest for the duration of the event. No lies or half-truths are allowed, and filters will be gone for the entire five days. If something bothers someone then they will blurt it out, regardless of whether or not it hurts someone's feelings, and no one will be able to simply keep quiet when they have something to say. They must be truthful and honest with every word they say.

This is a catch-all log for all of your Worst Memory needs! Please mark your threads clearly in the subject line with your character's name and Room Number + Floor for character rooms, or just location if you're making a top level for a public place in the mansion (like the tea rooms or the kitchen) so people can see if there's already a thread available. And here's the plot post if you need it!

[He tries to turn his face, to drop his eyes, but hers hold his, insistently. ]

[Is it too late to go back to his room and live out the memory a few thousand more times. It would be slightly less awkward than this. And less painful, too.]

No.

No, it's not.

[livemoore]

[ Lightly, now, her forehead presses against his and she closes her eyes. ]

I don't wanna be alone. And I can't go back to my room either. I keep...trying to save myself, and I can't. Every time, I still become...this.

[scoutsniper]

There's nothing wrong with this, Liv.

[Sit with some of that truth, Liv. As far as Frank's concerned, there's not a goddam thing wrong with her: she's smart, she's funny, she's sweet, she's...better than 98% of the people Frank's ever met.]

But we don't have to go back to your room. Okay?

[livemoore]

[ The relief that floods through her is palpable, her entire body sagging as she relaxes, nodding. They won't be alone because they'll have each other. And she doesn't have to see the accident again. He doesn't have to stay stuck in a horrific loop. ]

I wanted you here. With me.

[ She should not be telling so much truth. ]

[scoutsniper]

I'm here.

[In all the ways that matter, he hopes.] . We don't have to go anywhere. We can just stay here till it's over.

[livemoore]

Thanks. And for the coffee, too. You remembered the hot sauce.

[ She smiles just a little at that, pretty pleased he remembered the details. ]

[scoutsniper]

I thought it could help. [Not the hot sauce, because, eurgh. ] It's not like it was hard to do, Liv. [It's not like climbing a mountain or anything. It was just...putting hot sauce in coffee.]

[livemoore]

Yeah, but you still did it. [ It's not a big deal, it's just a nice thought and a detail that's easy to miss.

For a few minutes she's quiet, just enjoying coffee and letting herself soak up some of his ambient body heat. ]

So, here's a question that has nothing to do with what's happening because I'd rather not, but uh. The kissing on the roof. Was that a one time 'I feel sorry for you because you're dead' thing? Because if it was, that's cool.

[ Why does she sound like this right now? Why is she even asking this? Get it together, Liv. ]

[scoutsniper]

[ She might be able to hear his heartbeat pick up, because, uh, he'd almost rather talk about his shitty memory again.

And he's going to try not to answer, but that lasts all of about 45 seconds, like he's trying to hold in a hiccup. ]

No. It wasn't because I felt sorry for you.

For fuck's sake, Liv. Is that what you think?

[livemoore]

No!

[ Please don't ask her anything else because she'll have the same stupid truth thing to deal with. ]

No, that's not what I think.

[ At least he does know she's telling the truth. ]

[scoutsniper]

[Too late?] Then why'd you ask?

[livemoore]

[ fffffffffff

She tries, she really tries, and then lets out a breath of huffed out frustration. ]

Because I want to kiss you again but if you don't I was trying to give you an out. Without making it weird.

[ also, too late. ]

[scoutsniper]

[He knows the feeling. Join him in the awkward, Liv.]

It's weird now. [So...there's that. But he's not looking for an out. If there's one way to cure awkward, he...has no idea what it is, so he's going to lean forward, brushing his lips against hers.] You need proof?

[livemoore]

[ She knows she made it weird, dammit, and she'd like to crawl into a hole now. Well, until he's almost kissing her. If she had a heartbeat, hers would be going faster now, too. ]

Yeah. Prove it.

[scoutsniper]

[He can taste, faintly, the hot sauce on her lips. It's...her. It's not his wife, it's nothing at all like Maria, and that makes it different.

He leans closer, pushing a bit more into the kiss, taking one of her hands and pressing it against his throat, where she can probably hear his pulse hammering in his chest. Convinced?]

[livemoore]

[ Her hand stays right there, feeling his pulse as they kiss. She has no idea if he knows this but he's a damn good kisser. When she pulls back just a little, she immediately kisses again before letting her head thump back lightly on the wall. ]

I believe you. And that was even better than the roof.

[scoutsniper]

Yeah. [His voice is a little hoarse from the kiss, his racing pulse, and everything she pulled out of him.

He lingers near her for a while, just to be close, and then he breaks the moment with a laugh. ]


This is probably the worst goddam time for this.

[livemoore]

[ His laugh makes her laugh, and she her hand rests on his arm, thumb gliding over his wrist. ]

Yeah, but, it's definitely better than being alone. [ Her eyes meet his again. ] I'm glad I'm not alone.

[scoutsniper]

Yeah, me too.

[He watches her cool hand trace over his.] Sorry it had to be in a place like this.

[livemoore]

I'm not. We're probably not even from the same world. Maybe I'd never get to make out with you again in any place other than Wonderland.

[scoutsniper]

Probably safer that way. I'm not exactly popular back home.

[livemoore]

Are you popular here?

[ She asks with a small smile because oh yes, she remembers that network video post, Frank. ]

[scoutsniper]

Compared to home, yeah. Only thing people have done here is yell at me.

[That's almost the same as being goddam prom king as far as he's concerned. ]
