Summary: A catch all for the Horrible Memory Truth Event!
The Story:

For the duration of this event, everyone's entire room will be replaced with a memory playing on loop. They will likely recognize the moment as soon as they see it – it is a moment they remember as the worst moment of their entire lives. It could be a memory from home or something that happened in Wonderland. Lengths of the memories will vary, but they will find that these are not memories they can merely watch – they can step into these memories and attempt to make changes to them, and the memories will be long enough that they have time to make changes (though no more than 24 hours). However, anyone who tries will find that it is futile. No matter what you do or how hard you try, the outcome is always exactly the same somehow. No changes you make will prevent that horrible outcome. It just happens over and over and over again no matter what you do.

On top of that, perhaps complicating any attempts to make changes, everyone will be forced to be honest for the duration of the event. No lies or half-truths are allowed, and filters will be gone for the entire five days. If something bothers someone then they will blurt it out, regardless of whether or not it hurts someone's feelings, and no one will be able to simply keep quiet when they have something to say. They must be truthful and honest with every word they say.

This is a catch-all log for all of your Worst Memory needs! Please mark your threads clearly in the subject line with your character's name and Room Number + Floor for character rooms, or just location if you're making a top level for a public place in the mansion (like the tea rooms or the kitchen) so people can see if there's already a thread available. This honesty thing's bullshit, huh?

( Clementine winces, sinking down beside him, even if she's about to ask if he'd prefer that she leave altogether. It wouldn't bother her if that was the case. )

I'm theoretically in favor. When it's... not applying to me.

[Which is probably hypocritical, but hey. Sometimes the truth is more hypocritical than you want it to be.]

( Clementine smirks lightly. She's pretty sure everyone feels that way. They'd rather it be someone else spilling the truth. )

Makes it easier to figure out people who are trying to bullshit you so you know who to trust and who not to trust. So you know what they're telling you is the real deal.

Yeah, and people... bullshit a lot. [Swearing is still new and weird for him, but he's not entirely opposed. Especially around Clementine.] My Grunkle lies more than anyone and I thought I was over it until I talked to him now.

[shorthair]

They bullshit all the time. ( it's said in agreement. they lie more in her own world, because survival is a great motivator. ) Wait, what happened? Did you learn other stuff he lied about?

Not exactly. I was just reminded of how he let me think he didn't believe me for half the summer.

[He scowls.]

I know he was just trying to protect me but it really sucked.

[shorthair]

I think there are different ways of protecting someone, and acting like you don't believe somebody or shielding them completely from it, it's not the best way to do it.

That would really suck. I'd be pissed.

I am pissed! If he wanted to protect me, he should have been coming exploring with me! As it was, I knew the stuff was out there, but I also knew I couldn't count on him to believe me if I needed help, so I just had to take care of it all on my own!

[shorthair]

Yeah, that's not how you protect anyone. It's how someone ends up in more danger if they don't have someone watching their back who knows what's going on and who you can trust to help you out. ( She folds her arms across her chest, and her jaw locks. ) Now I'm pissed at him too.

[krmvgivv]

[Dipper shakes his head.]

It's just who he is. I don't think he'd know how to tell a straight truth without magic forcing him. I don't usually mind it too much. He's just... Grunkle Stan.

[shorthair]

Everybody lies sometimes, but that just sounds like a weird character trait especially when it gets in the way of him really being able to help you out when you needed it. How do you know what to believe?

( It had to be learned, right? Most things are even when they're shitty. She learned how to survive no matter what, which means lying sometimes, giving half truths, manipulating even. )

[krmvgivv]

Normally he's not exactly convincing with his lies. He likes to get really outrageous.

[He sighs, glancing away.] He's family. You get used to it. And he does always come through when it counts.

[shorthair]

( Clementine thinks about that. What does family mean? She doesn't feel like she even knows anymore. It's more than relying on oneself. That's for damn sure. She doesn't really know how to fully rely on other people. )

That's the important part. Family has to always be there for you when- when it counts. Either way, I don't blame you for being pissed he lied to start with.

[krmvgivv]

I guess his intentions were good. But it made me feel bad for a long time.

[shorthair]

I'm sorry. ( It's said genuinely before she sneaks closer to him, winding her arms around him to give him a tight hug. ) It'd make me feel bad too. It'd make anyone feel that way.
