Summary: A catch all for the Horrible Memory Truth Event!
The Story:

For the duration of this event, everyone's entire room will be replaced with a memory playing on loop. They will likely recognize the moment as soon as they see it – it is a moment they remember as the worst moment of their entire lives. It could be a memory from home or something that happened in Wonderland. Lengths of the memories will vary, but they will find that these are not memories they can merely watch – they can step into these memories and attempt to make changes to them, and the memories will be long enough that they have time to make changes (though no more than 24 hours). However, anyone who tries will find that it is futile. No matter what you do or how hard you try, the outcome is always exactly the same somehow. No changes you make will prevent that horrible outcome. It just happens over and over and over again no matter what you do.

On top of that, perhaps complicating any attempts to make changes, everyone will be forced to be honest for the duration of the event. No lies or half-truths are allowed, and filters will be gone for the entire five days. If something bothers someone then they will blurt it out, regardless of whether or not it hurts someone's feelings, and no one will be able to simply keep quiet when they have something to say. They must be truthful and honest with every word they say.

This is a catch-all log for all of your Worst Memory needs! Please mark your threads clearly in the subject line with your character's name and Room Number + Floor for character rooms, or just location if you're making a top level for a public place in the mansion (like the tea rooms or the kitchen) so people can see if there's already a thread available. And here's the plot post if you need it!

( she's not mentioning it; he assumes it's because she doesn't know them, which is good--maybe she'll forget he said it. maybe she'll never mention it again. hopefully his dad doesn't show up--although he really wishes he would--and figure out how loose he's been with. . everything regarding who he is.

still, jon gives a curt nod of his head, raises a hand to take her own while the other palm shoves rough against his eyes, rubbing away what remains of the tear tracks. ) We can even get some whipped cream and maybe some rainbow sprinkles to go on top of it and--cookies. Oreos? Do you like oreos?

That was something that I never found a taste for, much to Ashley's dismay.

( ... that had not been something helen had opted to admit, and she's quick to follow it up with-- )

( standing helen leads him out, finding the nearest tea room. at any other time she'd have taken him to her room, to hide his tears, to give him somewhere safe and quiet to cry, though with her own memory playing in it it isn't an experience that helen wants to subject him (or anyone) to )

There're other kinds of cookies, too. Like chips ahoy and stuff! Those're good. Especially with hot cocoa.

( he has no idea who ashley is, but he's not going to ask; jon has already gotten a bit of an idea of what's going on with the. unable to shut one's mouth thing, and he doesn't want to make someone say something they don't want to. best not to ask unsolicited questions.

fingers grip onto her hand a little tighter than needed, maybe--and he follows after her, just one step behind. )

( her gaze dips down to look at him at his question, her other hand moving across to rest on his, covering his hand completely )

Whatever's going on... it's brought up some rather unpleasant feelings.

( fear, pain, sadness. the memory was over a century old and yet it was still a very raw pain, one that the years had only seen to add to rather than help to close. she'd dealt with part of it but she always pushed her feelings away )

But I will be.

( she'd find something else to focus on, and ignore it once again. john wasn't here, especially not this brand of him. she could push everything aside again )

And you will be too.

I’m okay. ( her hand lays on top of his and jon tilts his head up, gives her a big smile. he’s sure she has a lot to be upset over--painful memories brought back up to the surface, complicated emotions she doesn’t want to deal with. he remembers what happened in damian’s room, how much that hurt him.

and despite the anger he’d felt towards his own memory--jon is okay. he misses his parents, missed hearing their voices, the feel of his father’s fingers ruffling his hair and his mother’s hand holding onto his shoulder. he misses all of that--but he knows it’ll be okay, in the end. that they’ll get out of here, and he’ll see them again. )

Hey, if you want--I have an extra room I share with a friend! We make bird houses and wooden cars and stuff, but I have a video game console set up in there and some movies that play on it, too. I think I left Godzilla and King Kong in there, but we can always pull different ones out of the closet if you prefer.

( once they're in the tea room she ushers him towards one of the booths, sitting across from him )

That is very kind of you, though not knowing how these memories are being broadcast I wouldn't wish to take the risk that it may affect this room too. I could take you there though, perhaps find your friend?

( and hope that neither of their memories appeared in that room )

( oh right. jon--takes a moment, turns his head up towards the ceiling and for a moment seems to just. space out, eyes looking up but focusing beyond the ceiling. )

There isn't anything going on in that room, or my uh--my other spare room, and Tim's in there, too, so.

( maybe general rooms aren't effected. )
