Summary: A catch all for the Horrible Memory Truth Event!
The Story:

For the duration of this event, everyone's entire room will be replaced with a memory playing on loop. They will likely recognize the moment as soon as they see it – it is a moment they remember as the worst moment of their entire lives. It could be a memory from home or something that happened in Wonderland. Lengths of the memories will vary, but they will find that these are not memories they can merely watch – they can step into these memories and attempt to make changes to them, and the memories will be long enough that they have time to make changes (though no more than 24 hours). However, anyone who tries will find that it is futile. No matter what you do or how hard you try, the outcome is always exactly the same somehow. No changes you make will prevent that horrible outcome. It just happens over and over and over again no matter what you do.

On top of that, perhaps complicating any attempts to make changes, everyone will be forced to be honest for the duration of the event. No lies or half-truths are allowed, and filters will be gone for the entire five days. If something bothers someone then they will blurt it out, regardless of whether or not it hurts someone's feelings, and no one will be able to simply keep quiet when they have something to say. They must be truthful and honest with every word they say.

This is a catch-all log for all of your Worst Memory needs! Please mark your threads clearly in the subject line with your character's name and Room Number + Floor for character rooms, or just location if you're making a top level for a public place in the mansion (like the tea rooms or the kitchen) so people can see if there's already a thread available. And here's the plot post if you need it!

H-Heh. Yeah.

[In theory, all of this is exciting. The plot to a show somewhere in the universe.]

I used to think this sort of thing would be... exciting, you know? Like waking up one day and having am adventure and magical destiny, but... it's a lot h-harder than TV makes it look. Plus, uhm, Wonderland didn't give me magic powers, so that makes it, uhm, more difficult.

Yeah, but you have, like... brain powers, so.

[Inwardly, Max has to remind herself that she has powers- of the temporal sort. It's easy to slip into thinking of herself as a regular teen girl, insecurities and all. But she probably wouldn't have made it this long in Wonderland if she was.]

And TV always makes things look easy. [She waves at the mansion around them.] Welcome to the real world I guess. [Her tone highlights the irony. Wonderland is about as far from the real world as she can imagine. And yet... here they are.]

[Alphys can't help but giggle a little at that. Brain powers. What a way to think about it.]

Yeah, the r-real world is always harder. I guess I just always wanted to believe that if I was, uh, given the opportunity, I'd become a real hero, you know? But in the end, I'm still just... me. For better or w-worse.

...You're a pretty good person to be, I think. [Max squints at her.] Remember Genosha? That was... weirdly nice.

[She looks away briefly.]

...That part was nice.

H-Heh, yeah. That event was... a lot.

It was kinda cool to be able to help you like that, though. I totally can't, uhm, do that regularly. It was cool to... b-be strong. Somebody's hero.

It was cool. And you were totally my hero.

[She tries for an encouraging smile, though it's small. It's easier to be positive when encouraging someone else...]

From what I hear you're pretty cool on a regular basis, too. PhD?

[She giggles a bit, suddenly bashful.]

Well a l-lot of humans have higher education degrees, it's just, uhm, a lot more uncommon for monsters... there's really only one college for it, in the city. But, uh, I mean, it's... it's still pretty cool.

[Dangit, truth event, making her compliment herself!]

[mypartnerintime]

Nothing you said makes it any less cool. [Max manages a better smile this time, and lighter tone.] I'm happy to know one of the Underground's few doctors.

[She pauses.]

I'm glad you came.

[The sincerity in her voice is obvious. And she can't lie right now. But the smile is obviously tired, and the tone thin.]

[She laughs just a bit, smiling and feeling it, for once.]

M-Me too. I thought I wanted to be alone, but... it's a lot better sharing something scary with a friend.

[mypartnerintime]

Yeah.

[It is nice to have company. Max puts out her cigarette on the ashcan she's coaxed from one of the closets.]

Thanks, Alphys. I think I'm gonna try to snooze through the rest of the event, if you don't mind...
