Summary: A catch all for the Horrible Memory Truth Event!
The Story:

For the duration of this event, everyone's entire room will be replaced with a memory playing on loop. They will likely recognize the moment as soon as they see it – it is a moment they remember as the worst moment of their entire lives. It could be a memory from home or something that happened in Wonderland. Lengths of the memories will vary, but they will find that these are not memories they can merely watch – they can step into these memories and attempt to make changes to them, and the memories will be long enough that they have time to make changes (though no more than 24 hours). However, anyone who tries will find that it is futile. No matter what you do or how hard you try, the outcome is always exactly the same somehow. No changes you make will prevent that horrible outcome. It just happens over and over and over again no matter what you do.

On top of that, perhaps complicating any attempts to make changes, everyone will be forced to be honest for the duration of the event. No lies or half-truths are allowed, and filters will be gone for the entire five days. If something bothers someone then they will blurt it out, regardless of whether or not it hurts someone's feelings, and no one will be able to simply keep quiet when they have something to say. They must be truthful and honest with every word they say.

This is a catch-all log for all of your Worst Memory needs! Please mark your threads clearly in the subject line with your character's name and Room Number + Floor for character rooms, or just location if you're making a top level for a public place in the mansion (like the tea rooms or the kitchen) so people can see if there's already a thread available. [If Minato only knew about some alternate universe where a girl took his place instead, then all of this would be so familiar.

But he could imagine it, at least. He wanted to, if just to understand her more. Some of what she described he could relate to.]

I had my friends forget the journey we all embarked on together, as if it never happened.

[Not the same, he knew, and not to take away from her story at all. He hoped maybe it could be yet another bridge connecting them.]

It must have been hard for you. I'm sorry.

[heroica]

It was. [ She admits, smiling thinly. ] ... But, it sounds like something similar happened to you. [ beat ] Do you mean that you chose for them to forget?

[ Why? Of course, it isn't exactly her business, but... as long as they're being honest with each other... ]

[jivitadana]

[In this case he couldn't lie, but it wasn't as though he wanted to, not to her. He shook his head, though he did have to explain.]

I think it was more like because I saved them that they forgot. Like the consequence of it.

[And to elaborate a little more:]

They remembered me, but not everything that we did together prior to our final battle.

[heroica]

Ah. [ That's interesting. She frowns slightly, still turning the thought over in her mind, but no longer questioning it. ] I... hope it doesn't cause you too much grief, to have them forget what you did.

[ At least they didn't forget him, though, right? ]

It was okay, in the end. They remembered at the last minute, but then I fell asleep and didn't wake up.

[Minato didn't want her to worry when he knew that she would. He did appreciate the concern, though he hadn't wanted to burden her with it.]

But I don't mind. I got to save them, and now that I'm here, I know they remembered.

[He just didn't really get to enjoy that feeling for very long with his friends at home.]

You... I'm sorry, what?

[ "Fell asleep and didn't wake up" sounds a lot like "dying," which has her eyes widen in unpleasant surprise. ]

[Minato nodded. She had guessed right. He hadn't been lying, but it was just a way of saying it since, well, he did fall asleep on that rooftop.]

Being here is like a second chance to be alive. If I have to stay a while, it's okay with me.

[heroica]

[ There's a long pause during which she wants to reach out to him again, to offer some kind of reassuring contact... but doesn't, keeping her distance to give him space, her expression borderline... well, grave. ]

It is. [ She affirms finally, from experience. ] And... I hope you're able to enjoy it to the fullest.

[jivitadana]

[Minato for his part did move a little closer to her. He was okay with dying. He chose it and it was nice to be alive again, but he knew that once they were back to reality, back to home, he'd just have to not be alive.]

I hope you do, too. That's fair, isn't it?

[heroica]

I think so. [ She smiles softly, dropping her gaze. ] I've done what I can to remember that, to be... happy here, in this rare chance, rather than moping. It can be difficult, but it's easier with people like you to remind me of why it's such a gift.

[jivitadana]

[Minato smiled and if he could, he held his hand out and reached for one of hers.]

I have to thank you too for the same reason. I'm glad that I met you. We'll both try to be happy.

[heroica]

[ The Warden obliges, taking his hand in hers and maintaining the little smile. ]

We will. If there's anything I can ever do to help you...

[jivitadana]

It's the same for me. I'm here whenever you need anything.

[He promised.]
