"So you read music?" That's the first step. They'd like to assume that they can, but...well, not every musician reads music. Some play by ear, or learn by listening, and stuff like that. It's never wise to assume, they know. They've learned.

They've never written a song before, either, but...it's Wonderland. They're always learning how to do new things here, and they know how to play, so learning how to write music would be the next step, wouldn't it?

They just have no idea where to start.

"I'm starting to read music, yes, but..." Turing trails off, looking on. "As a ROM, reading sheet music appears too easy. Once I can understand the correlation of the notes with its appropriate key on the xylophone, the rest fills together, like pieces in a jigsaw puzzle. I find it more challenging to improvise music instead of simply sight reading it, so that's what I'm more focused on."

Ah, they were rambling again. They look back at Frisk.

"What about you? Do you read music, Frisk?"

"Not very well," they admit, a mumble and a duck of their head the sole indication that they're perhaps a little embarrassed over how long they've been playing...and how little they have to show for it, in some ways. "It's hard to find music for things, sometimes. I just like...learning it by ear."

It's slower, probably, but there's something about it that's intensely satisfying - and it sticks in their mind a little better, they think.

"I agree with you on that sentiment. There's always asking the closet for some sheet music, but...it feels like a monkey's paw at times. You ask for some sheet music, and it gives you some, but it's for the piccolo or the timpani or for the alto clarinet! And there's no way I'm risking losing some of my memories to get some proper sheet music by purchasing some at the vendors..." Turing rambles on.

"I think that learning to play by ear in this case is the safest route, in a strange way. Besides...we can always compose our own sheet music with blanks. I'm fairly certain that the closet won't mess up producing blank music sheets too badly..."

"Do you have any favorite songs you want to learn?" That's a good jumping off point, surely. If they can settle on something shared, some kind of joint taste, perhaps then they can make something new of it.

Then again, it's safe to say that Frisk doesn't have much taste when it comes to anything, music included, and have yet to encounter something they don't like the sound of.

Much in regards to their taste in food, Frisk's persistent garbage habit shows no signs of stopping.
