[OPEN] I'll be home for Christmas
Who: Mettaton, his mirror, and you!
Where: All around the mansion!
When: Dec. 12th through Dec. 25th
Rating: PG-13 but will adjust if it gets higher!
Summary: The holidays make Mettaton a bit sentimental and lonely for family that is no longer in Wonderland. Luckily, his mirror is here and that’s all he REALLY needs, right? Ewaymas is the most wonderful tiiiiiime of the yeaaaaar~!
The Story:
A. Christmas eve will find me, where the love light gleams
[From the first day that Ewaymas has officially started, Mettaton has resolved to not let it pass unnoticed. It’s a bit of a painful reminder to know how long it has been since Napstablook has been gone. This time last year, they had been preparing to go around the mansion and carol, spreading holiday cheer to everyone. Now he is alone.
Well. Not entirely. The mirrors are here now and that means that his “delightful” double has crossed over and essentially taken up residence in his room for the time being. On one hand, he’s grateful- on the other, things have been a bit strained between them as of late. All in all, though, it’s good to have him near.
For anyone who comes into the Entrance Hall during this time they’ll find Mettaton and sometimes his mirror sitting at a beautiful baby grand piano. Luckily this piano isn’t made of cookie like the entire mansion; a well-fought for state of being from the closet. Both Real and Mirror will be playing various Christmas songs. Whether they’re gentle piano covers or some well-sung tunes, you’re sure to find SOMETHING you recognize. And if you do… why not sing along? The two robots will certainly be singing and playing on their own and together and at least one of them will be glad for the company.]
B. I’ll be home for Christmas
Wonderland’s transformation has not gone unnoticed on its own and when Mettaton is not at the piano he’s exploring the cookie-fied mansion. Most of the time he is accompanied by his mirror and you can hear them as they walk together, making comments on this decoration or that decoration and whether or not they agree with that design choice. You can still find either of them alone, however, and easily catch one of them trying to take a bite out of a wall or doorway, or even a bloom off a pair of candy flowers. Neither of them is above exploring this sort of wonder.
C. If only in my dreams
[The outdoors are not something that Mettaton’s mirror gets to experience all that often so a trip out in the snow is absolutely necessary. If you catch sight of the mirror here, it looks like one of the genuinely few times he has a look of pure delight on his face that isn’t tainted by a nasty sneer of some kind. He rolls in the snow (gracefully, of course), builds snowmen and generally has a good time. Mettaton of course can be found nearby, either helping him build whatever snow palace he wants to make this time around, or just quietly enjoying his mirror’s company. Sometimes he decides to do something on his own or his mirror makes his way farther out into the gardens than Mettaton was anticipating, so once more it is possible to find one without the other, though it isn’t easy.]
((ooc: all three of these prompts give you the option to either have Mettaton, his mirror, or both interact with your character! Just let me know in your title what you want and I’ll respond accordingly. Merry Christmas, Wonderland!))

[After a few moments, though, there is a clear and audible bang as something falls on the keys. Or rather, someone fell on the keys, and is now sprawled out across the highest notes, trying to catch his breath.]
[Kokichi shoulda known better than to try and climb up the leg of the piano while he's still stuck at 4 inches tall. Now he's exhausted from the effort. Poor little guy.]
no subject
He pulls his hands away from the piano, the music stopping abruptly.]
Well hello there, sweetheart. And who might you be? And how did you get like this?
Ignore the blood on the icon. He's just tired.

Uh.
Well, robots, he guesses. There are two of them, looking exactly identical and busy building a snowman. Mondo doesn't know what to feel about this. Who's the other one? Does the crazy robot has a twin or somethin'? Or maybe it's just another robot from the same series? That kinda thing? It's fine if that's the case, but what if that's the Mirror... they shouldn't get along so well, right?
He just stands there, a few foots away with his arms crossed, examining carefully. There were no plans to jump in ー he was ready to move along after he's done staring, but he forgets that he's not alone today. The beagle puppy by his side jumps forward, barking at the snowman in sheer interest. New friend?! New friend?!?
...Great. ]
I can't fit plurk emotes into this but know that I am so excited to have these two go at it again
The one who crinkled his nose then looks to the human accompanying it and his eyes widen. He turns to his companion.]
Darling, is that the corn boy you told me about?
[The other robot laughs and nods, as his eyes sparkle with mischief.]
It is indeed! And it seems he has a little corn dog with him this time!
[That Mettaton gives Mondo a short wave and a wink as he crouches down and puts his hands out.]
Come here you adorable pup! Do you want to see the snowman?
cries to your arms ME TOO

Though, when she hears two of Mettaton's voice, she immediately decides to pick up the pace. Whatever reason one of the mirrors has to be around their real, likely can't be good.
She turns a corner, and finds them both there, seeming to be examining one of the numerous candy decorations. Not that she cares- there's only one thing here that matters to her, as she points her trident at the mirror, and speaks.]
You. Leave, now.
no subject
If it weren't for the crown on your head, I would have assumed you were the Real Toriel, seeing as she doesn't care for me much.
[The mirror, for his part, watches Mirror Toriel closely. He's known how she feels about mirrors just from their bare few interactions of passing each other every now and then. He knows she can cause trouble.]
Perhaps we should leave, darling... she's not the best conversationalist.

A metta and then mirrorton later maybe?
[Magic cookies don't seem to care about that sort of thing, though. He's been carrying his trombone around for a little while now, trying to remember the slide positions, playing along whenever he hears someone else playing music somewhere in the mansion. He's following the sound of piano music right now, and--lo and behold, it's Mettaton.]
[He has to just stop in the door way and stare for a moment. Man. Sometimes he forgets how genuinely amazing Mettaton is. His voice is lovely, his playing is wonderful. It would be a pity to ruin it.]
[Magic compulsion is a magic compulsion, though, so after a bar or so, Sans joins in on I'll Be Home For Christmas. It's slow enough that he has time to get the slide positions mostly right. He's playing a part not technically meant for a trombone, though, which means the song ends up a bit more...jazzy and interpretive, would be the polite way to describe it. He's really not that great at it, either, but magic cookies mean that he either doesn't notice or doesn't care.]
sounds good to me!!
Every time Sans messes up a note Mettaton improvises a glissando to cover the sour sound or a trill, or anything that incorporates the new sound brought forth. He smiles happily as they play together.
Christmas eve will find me... where the love light gleams...
Mettaton leans towards the direction Sans is, motioning with his head for him to come closer to the piano as he plays.]

Eek!
[She hopes they didn't hear that.]
AWFUL CHOICES, COMING UP
Mikan, darling, hello there! Are you here to enjoy or play along?
[The other Mettaton looks at his companion, a bit bewildered. It's been... quite awhile since Mirrorton has been so pleased to see someone right off the bat.]
It's good to see you, Mikan. Have you been well?

They watch them, silent and motionless. The singing is skillful, but they are experiencing difficulties with recurring imagery of Mettaton's shadow "making out" with his creator.)

Legion! It's good to see you!
[Maybe they won't comment on all those things from the last event? Maybe they'll just??? Forget??
good luck with that, Metta. His mirror remains silent, observing the other robot.]

B.
Homes and other establishments get dirtied over time, and he's certain this place is no exception. Why would anyone want to eat from it ... ? He's far from a germophobe, but it's the first thought that occurred to him, seeing these weird, identical strangers eating from the gardens and fixtures. )
Tastes like shit, I imagine.

One puts a hand to his chin, crossing his arm over his abdomen as he looks this newcomer up and down, while the other cocks his head to the side, a hand on his hip. The one with the hand on his face speaks first.]
Why would you think that? The mansion has never failed to deliver good tasting food before. Even if this time around it's the entire structure.
[The other robot's eyes narrow a bit.]
Even on the mirror side, the mansion is pretty good at appealing to one's taste. I suppose if you wanted it to taste like shit, it would. But you don't want THAT, do you~?
[This robot grins a bit, clearly teasing as the other one snorts in response.]
A
That was very well done and beautiful.
[ She knows there are mirror shenanigans happening, and she nods to both of them. ]
Are you able to take requests?
no subject
We do! If it's more in line with human culture we may not know it off the top of our head but we can always improvise.
[After another moment of surprise, Mettaton finally speaks.]
Claire, darling, not to be rude, but what happened to you?
[The mirror looks to Mettaton, silently curious at his question.]

C, metta or mirror or both whichever one you think is more Fun
Regardless, she spies a Mettaton and waves, forgetting momentarily that it has the potential to be a man who wants her dead with the face of her friend. But there's also a great chance it's just Mettaton, right?
... Right?]

Alphys!
[It's a brief second before suddenly another Mettaton head pops up from behind the snowman the two had been building, his eyes narrowed in an intense look of hatred. His eyes seem to burn as he peers around the snow at Alphys.]
Come on over! We're building a snowman!
[His mirror stands up then, still glaring as Mettaton looks to Alphys.]
Yes. We're building a snowman.

c - Mettaton or both is cool. Whatever strikes you :)
He spots Mettaton and and approaches. They haven't spoken a lot and Souji figures he can ameliorate that. He speaks as he's munching on a flower.]
Hey. Looks like you're having fun.

I'd say you're having more fun than me, darling. Are those really edible right now?

He watches helplessly, unsure of which Mettaton it's going to hit.]

And just what were you thinking in doing that??? You could have scratched his plating!
[The other Mettaton sputters, getting snow off his face. The one who initially responded continues angrily.]

A, real!
Which is how a massive polar bear is wandering through the entrance hall, drawn there by the music. It's nothing he knows, given the lack of a true Thedas equivalent, but it's still enchanting.
The massive bear flops down besides the piano, enraptured by the performance.]

When there's a small lull and he hears this someone plop down beside the piano he finally opens his eyes to see who here is graced by his presence-
oh boy that's a bear
