Winter Wednesday Wonderball
Who: E V E R Y O N E
Where: The Ballroom, Real Side
When: December 20th
Rating: PG
Summary: The invitation sent for you. Now the festivities begin! Come and join, Mirrors and Reals, and have a wonderful winter time!
The Story:
At last the invitations spell TODAY, and come 7 o'clock sharp the ballroom doors open to a beautiful winter landscape in icy blues and whites. Snow and ice of both the artificial and real variety decorate the ballroom, and white fog floods the dancefloor like an icy winter mist, making the atmosphere complete. Nevertheless the temperature is still pleasantly cool, allowing all to enjoy themselves without hiding their gowns under thick cloaks.
Decorations both standing and hanging are cool, elegant and... made with heart, though various symbols of the cool season, such as snowflakes and luscious winter conifers, have their place in the mix just the same. Chairs and tables of ice line the ballroom for anyone who wishes to rest their tired feet or enjoy the rich buffet of food and drink. It goes without saying that everyone's favourite cookies are still available, looking as delicious as ever. Still, there are alternatives, should anyone prefer to abstain for some odd reason.
For your entertainment piano music of various kinds fills the room at all times. The ball will continue well into the night, with food and drink replenishing as needed, and music playing as long as people will dance to it. Come dawn of the next day the ballroom will go quiet, all delicious goods will disappear, and furniture and decorations both will begin to melt, signalling even the most dedicated party guests that it's time to leave.
So go forth, dance, eat and drink, and be merry, and... perhaps spare just one moment to think of the ones less fortunate than yourself.

festive cheer }
So when Lucifer doesn't happen to be attending to his date, she will slip her way over, take whatever the other woman happens to have in her hands and places them to the side, before taking a hand in hers.
"We're dancing."
Do not argue with her, you know you don't actually want to.
no subject
"Okay, but warning, dancing is not my strong suit." Not that it's stopped her throughout the evening. Unfortunately, her unexpected holiday exuberance has not made her any less awkward in every social situation. "This party is awesome, isn't it?"
no subject
"And dancing isn't about skill - it's about confidence." She flashes the other woman a smile as they reach the middle of the dance floor. "I'm sure you'll be fine."
no subject
"Right. Confidence." Chloe is pretty sure she has somewhat a deficit in that department. Luckily, all the alcohol she's had might counteract it. "I honestly didn't think of you as the dancing type."
no subject
She just doesn't normally have the time because she keeps getting interrupted because her brothers have got themselves into trouble. In fact, they usually wind up calling her for a magical cure or a babysitter for her niece right when things are starting to get good.
"I used to dance on the bars in New Orleans."
no subject
"For fun or for tips?"
no subject
no subject
A few reasons, in fact; Freya is intelligent, feisty, and has bailed Chloe's ass out on more than one occasion. But at the end of the day, Freya has earned Chloe's loyalty just through her genuine friendship, and shares a number of traits with Chloe's friends back home. Chloe wouldn't say she's like any of the girls in particular, but she definitely feels like Freya would fit into a night of drinking with Maze, Linda, and Ella just fine.
With that said, Chloe is just going to do her best to follow Freya's lead when it comes to dancing. "What was it like, living in New Orleans?"
no subject
Freya is often spending her time trying to defend her family from one threat or another, but she does love the spirit of the city, and the history there, both for the Mikaelsons and the witches.
"But fun. New Orleans is a city that knows how to have a good time."
no subject
She grins cheekily. New Orleans sounds like a different planet than Los Angeles, at least what Chloe's heard of it, but there is something appropriate about it being a home to vampires and witches.
"I'd love to visit one day. You know I'm not usual a party girl, but if I'm going to party anywhere it might as well be New Orleans."
no subject
no subject
"I wonder what the chances are of that... That we're from the same world?" It's something Chloe has given thought to in the past, but it's still hard for her to wrap her mind around. At the same time, she almost wants to believe that they are from the same place if nothing else so that she can know her friends are still out there, somewhere, even if she doesn't remember them. "I mean, I wouldn't have thought so but with Lucifer? Anything is possible."
no subject
Wonderland tends to be incredibly specific, and while she's sure that running into angels is probably not as likely, no matter the risk, there are a few other dead giveaways.
"I'm fairly certain I would have heard of their being a Hell."
no subject
Granted, Chloe is a lowly human and not a witch or some other kind of immortal. But Lucifer is still her partner and it's only a matter of time before she starts to believe it's all real, right?
Maybe.
"I just can't wrap my mind around there being a Heaven and Hell in my world and not anywhere else."
no subject
Though not like the NBC TV show.
no subject
Something about the un-dead wandering around probably rewrote the rules a little.
"How do you know, though? That there's at least... that?"
no subject
That plus years of almost-dying-but-not-quite and talking to ghosts, but Kol and Finn were at least able to confirm and deny a lot of her theories.
"For about two thousand years it was even more complicated than that, but that's a very long story that's not really meant for a dance floor."
no subject
As much as it interests Chloe to know all of this stuff, she mostly just wants to dance, enjoy the holiday, and spend time with Freya, who is quickly becoming one of her nearest and dearest friends. The serious stuff can wait (at least until those cookies wore off).
"You still have to teach me some dance movies if you want me to keep up, though."
/scene?
And with that, they will dance the night away, or at least to the end of the dance-y songs, where their feet are protesting otherwise.
