[NYE Party] happy new year and lots of fun

Who: EVERYONE, but especially you!
Where: Wonderland Ballroom
When: New Year's Eve
Rating: PG - PG13 (will change if applicable)
Summary: New Year's Eve Party
The Story:

[ Previously in the month all residents received an invitation to a formal event: a black tie affair to ring in the New Year. The ballroom and adjacent areas are decked out for the party starting at eight o'clock sharp, meticulously planned and executed, glittering dΓ©cor to match the no doubt glittering attire as music pours into the halls from the dance floor.

Bars flank each side, service for all manner of alcohol unless a minor requests something, and the primary setting stage features an enormous clock for the countdown.

[ Where will you be when the clock strikes midnight? ]

[Dan sees that grin, and smirks a little to himself while saying nothing. He recognises it, having seen that same look reflected back at himself in the occasional mirror, when he hears Evelyn in the background.]

Yeah, I hear y'. I'm makin' sure I can still walk at midnight. [He tips the glass of water slightly in Rip's direction.]

An' that I don't step on the feet of anyone who fancies a dance.

[Unaware that he's been caught, Rip instead nods in acknowledgement of the man's moderation--particularly since his unspoken goals do indeed run along the same lines. Though it is not a Wednesday Rip has long decided just whose company he hopes to end up with the clock strikes midnight, and with some luck, for a fair amount of time afterwards.

He does, however, huff out a soft sound not unlike a laugh when the man mentions other perils of too much drink.]

No doubt a wise precaution. Depending on whom you were dancing with, you might well not hear the end of it.

[Rip knows he wouldn't. One bad step and Rip would end up hearing about it for weeks afterwards at a minimum. It would be just the sort of ammunition Peggy might love to have in her arsenal.

All the more reason to ensure she doesn't.]

I step on Evie's feet, 'm sure I won't.

[Anyone else, he might get away with it, but Evelyn has spent far too long teaching him how to dance to let stepping on her feet slip by without a good scolding or two.

He has no intentions of disappointing her.

An' she ain't gonna be happy 'f I make a show a' m'self by gettin' too drunk. So... I ain't.
