Summary: New Year's Eve Party
The Story:

[ Previously in the month all residents received an invitation to a formal event: a black tie affair to ring in the New Year. The ballroom and adjacent areas are decked out for the party starting at eight o'clock sharp, meticulously planned and executed, glittering décor to match the no doubt glittering attire as music pours into the halls from the dance floor.

Bars flank each side, service for all manner of alcohol unless a minor requests something, and the primary setting stage features an enormous clock for the countdown. ]

Both.

[He wishes, often and quite fervently, that he could remember something. Those thoughts had faded, temporarily, when he was with Julie and all he really wanted to remember was the time he'd spent with her, but being in Wonderland had awakened his curiosity about himself.

Memories he didn't know he had had already been shown to him. How could he not wonder about what else his mind might be keeping from him?]

I'm... R. [Shrug.] That's... all I remember.

I don't know if that sounds horrible or like a relief. Both I guess. [She would absolutely never choose to give up her memories. She'd fight like hell to keep them. But she also knows she'd probably be happier without them. There's a lot of pain there.]

R it is then. [She offers her hand, you know, for shaking.]

[He looks at her hand for a couple of seconds, like he isn't sure what to do with it. Then, something kicks on in the back of his mind and he awkwardly steps forwards to take it and give her a small handshake.

There's not much to his grip, and his skin is oddly lukewarm, but he's trying.]
