So he mostly just let Christmas pass. It was a stupid Christian and brightly colored tradition when you took out Pennyworth’s cooking anyway. Still, he wasn’t one to mope. If you don’t like something, you do something, right?
This is why Damian is on the roof, in full Robin gear with a box of fireworks. Was shooting fireworks on New Years a tradition? Well, for him it is now because he wanted to blow some stuff up.]
Stay.
[He says to Kory and Alfred as he sets his box down further away from them and takes out a firework.
Come Midnight, lets light up the sky.]

it's the color theme that gains his attention, the r on his chest. and much like damian, jason isn't one to walk around without his own armor. the helmet covers any facial features that may have given him away on sight, but the arkham symbol on the centerpiece of his armor and the stupid bat ears (antenna, actually) out of the top of the helmet are more than enough signs to give away a general affiliation to anyone mildly familiar with gotham.
not that he's making that connection easy, given he's speaking from the shadows behind the roof's entrance, the blue glow of the slits over his eyes the only visible sign of him. the voice filter works wonders, too: covers up the tone of his voice. )
Halloween was months ago, kid.
no subject
Easy. [He says calmly to the animals, despite his own instincts starting to flare. It wasn't common for someone, not a fellow Robin to sneak up on him. Finally looking over at the voice. A figure choosing to stay hidden in shadow? Well, that was never a good sign. And here he thought Wonderlands latest even had come to an end.]
And yet someone is still playing Boogieman.

And he is completely unsurprised to see Damian there.
And even less surprised that he's all geared up.]
Hey Damian.
no subject
Got sick of the party?
[It was still strange talking so easily to his predecessor when all his memories of Drake back home were of cutting verbal spars or pointless bitter contest to prove who was better. Only for Drake to die. Leaving so much unsaid... undiscovered and just a cold sense of something Damian was still having trouble processing.]
Don't be useless, Drake, set up some fireworks.

Jason misses Gotham, though good luck getting him to admit it, and one of the things he misses the most is having a rooftop all to himself. Hard not to spot the Robin gear when it stands out - that's what it's designed to do, contrast with Batman's shadows, be a nice bright distracting target - and Jason's been watching for the kid ever since they talked on his first day. Jason's not wearing a uniform, because a) his was mostly destroyed by the time he arrived, and 2) almost nobody knows and definitely nobody cares about the Red Hood here, so he's layered up in street clothes, red hoodie under a black leather jacket, dark jeans, boots. The hood of his jacket is pulled up over his head, because that just makes sense.]
You look smaller in person.
[Hi, Damian.]
no subject
Speaking of familiar voices, he inclined his head at this one but didn't fully turn or lower his hood. Instead, he knelt down, picking up one of the fireworks and carries on setting it up.]
Yes, when one carries himself with confidence, they give off the impression of grandeur. [He drawls as he sets the firework on the ground before straighten up and finally looking at Todd. His eyes covered by a green domino, he still boring into the Todd mimic.
There were differences though with this former Robin. His stance was far less relaxed, but he was from an earlier point, much like Drake. Only if you were to catch Todd earlier in life, he was even less likable. If one could imagine.]
If it helps. You sound just as stupid in person? So at least you know you're not a letdown.
[Upside?] This time. [Damian giveth and Damian taketh away.]

Feb: Music room.
He never really gave this room much attention, but he spots a violin rest by the window. Well, since the last few events were so musical incline, it reawoke a talent he thought he’d lost years ago. He decides to see if it was just the events or if the old music lessons were still there.
They were.]
no subject
Today when he opens the door, he happens to notice someone in the process of playing the violin. And good!
Steven will just stand there silently, smiling softly as he takes in the performance!]
no subject
Needless to say, having someone sneak up on him at all that wasn't a fellow Robin was impressive and made his bow on the violin screech a bit when he comes to a sudden stop.]
How long have you been here?

Another kid? Really? What is wrong with this place?]

He does feel eyes on him after awhile. Old instincts died hard after all. He does finish the sound though because he never did like to leave things half finished, then turns to the girl and points the bow at her.]
You are being quite rude. [Says the son of Batman who has a masters degree in rude. So you know, don't worry, he knows what he's talking about.]

Classical music isn't really her thing -- she's always been more of a fan of anything with the word 'glam' in the genre -- but Lois can appreciate good music, she's not a complete lost cause there. She slips into the room quietly, lingering in the farthest corner to listen in on the performance. ]
Feb: Youth center.
Sure there was a game system in the cave, but that was mostly for Jon’s benefit. Also to keep him distracted and from touching the more complicated equipment in the cave. Arcade games just had a more competitive feel to them. Perhaps it was the fact that anyone could just take away his high score.
Where you the one that took that high score he just left here?]
no subject
Truthfully, she's never played video games back home. But now she has all the time in the world and it might be fun to try out a new hobby! She eagerly turns the game on and is starstruck by the high score displayed on the screen. ]
Oh my! This is quite a high score.
no subject
Damian did have a nasty habit of obsessing.]
Hm, you think? The intention was to make it unbeatable. [Again.]
Ever played Cheese Vikings? [Was it you? Were you the one that ruined his score before? His gaze seems to bore into the girl. She didn't look like a game expert, but things were rarely what they seemed in this place.]

That's fine, right?]

Who did this! [He shouts at Jason and points accusingly to the screen. He already told you he thought Jasons were assholes... this is not helping the case of Jason-kind!]

Feb: Brand new training room.
After leaving a training dummy like a pin cushion with the throwing knives, he was on the bars doing some flips.]
no subject
Well, I think the dummy’s dead at the very least.
no subject
He had it coming. [He insists, focusing back on his flip. How did Grayson always get the perfect momentum on this one again? He takes a breath before pushing up and let's go, spinning in the air and would stick his landing, but his legs didn't stay straight and in a fash of mild panic he tried to grab the bars again. Nope, that didn't work, he misses and was coming towards the mats for a hard landing.]

no subject
But if nothing else, there seems to be enough room to keep himself in shape. He thought it was an odd enough hour to be able to have the training room to himself, but it looks like one of the fake Robins is settled here first. His eyes narrow at the parallel bar performance.]
Your shoulders need to be looser. You'll pull a muscle doing it that way.
no subject
Is that so? And what gives you that idea, Faker? [Could it perhaps be a circus performers expertise in ariel gymnastics? Though here's Grayson's advice in such a young and demanding tone was almost humorous... or would be if it weren't so aggravating. Wonderland's cruel jokes with his family were just becoming repetitive. No one is laughing Wonderland. He pulls up into a handstand, finally looking at the other Robin, even if upside down, giving a challenging smirk.]
Get up on some bars yourself if you think you know better.

And indeed, it passed much faster when he was doing things, because it was already fifteen minutes before their designated meeting time when he remembered to check the time. It's good that Damian's workshop isn't too far away, though, just two floors up, so Mondo can still drag his motorcycle up the stairs. Don't mind him, passersby.
He'll knock the door (or ring a bell... if it has one) once he's there, and when Damian opens up an uninvited guest will be there to be seen ー a beagle pupper poking out from a bag Mondo's hauling. ]
