The Boys Want To Fight But The Girls Are Happy To Dance All Night; Open

Who: Any ladies who want to come, you don't have to have responded to Wynonna's post to come!

Summary: In her last network post Wynonna brought up the idea of having a Galentine's themed lady's night at the bar, and she was met with pretty overwhelming enthusiasm so here it is. This is a party post so anyone is free to start their own top levels and mingle and have fun
The Story:

Since the beginning of the month Wynonna has taken over Damon's Bar, changing very little about it as she does so. A lot of the old wait staff still works there, along with some new faces who have volunteered to help out as well.

The decorations are surprisingly tasteful and simple, complete with candles on every table to set a mood.

There's a dance floor set up for those who want to dance -- the play list is all female artists. Wynonna has tried to choose a mixture of eras and styles of music, some of the artists included are: Janis Joplin, Billie Holliday, the International Sweethearts, Natalie Cole, Heart, Kate Bush, Cyndi Laugher, Madonna, Hole, Beyonce, Tegan and Sara, and Kesha. She tried to fit in a little of something for everyone.

There's also a table set up with goodies provided by Lup that people can snack on! Everyone should thank Lup because that means Wynonna did not attempt to make any food herself, which you should all be grateful for.

The bar itself will be serving special cocktails for the occasion but they are fully stocked with whatever else you might drink or order too.

The pool tables and dart boards are still set up for anyone who wants to use them as well.

Basically drink, be merry, and celebrate how many awesome ladies there are here in Wonderland. You all have earned it.

[Lup's had just enough to drink that what few social boundaries she actually regards are all out of play. When Snow starts singing, the elf slides up to her, even if they've never spoken prior, Lup's long ears perked up in interest.]

Shit. You sing like, fuckin' awesome.

[Apparently she's going to make weird impressions on this entire family.]

[ Snow stops singing and raises her eyebrows at the praise, lips quirking into a small smile. ]

Well, I think the only thing to say to that is thank you. I wouldn't call it awesome. But I enjoy it every now and again.

[ So humble. ]

The more I drink, the louder I get, so stay tuned to possibly recant your statement.

Sounds like a challenge to me. [And boy, Lup sure does love a good challenge.]

So, who're you? What's your story? I'm learning all about a lot of awesome ladies today.

[ Oh, gosh. She promised David she'd never get that drunk again. Though, David isn't here, so...

We'll see. ]

My story? Oh, it's complicated. But my name is Snow. What's yours?

[ As much as she would love to just launch into her story, people aren't quite as believing here - ironically enough - and there are so many details even the short version is long. ]

[Shhhh, what David doesn't know...]

Way to avoid the question. [But Lup's grinning, looking too pleased to be really annoyed.] Lup. I'm Lup. Been around Wonderland long, Snow?

Oh! no, I'm not avoiding, it's just a story that's long. And complicated.

[ Honestly, people don't ask for that reason. ]

I've been here since just before Christmas, so not all that long compared to most others I've met. Including members of my own family.

Oh! Sweet! [And even beneath her teasing, there's a touch of sincerity in her grin, in the way she tips her head to the side, smiling over at Snow. Family is everything, alright? She's not gonna go all sappy on the other woman, but it's good the two of them aren't so alone.]

Shit's better with family around. They been taking care of you? Showin' you the ropes? Wonderland's a trip, but with folks you trust around, it's a little more tolerable.

You know, they have been. My entire family lives on the 8th floor, and for a while I lived with my step-mother. But my daughter, her future husband, and my grandson are all here. It's kind of overwhelming and amazing at the same time.

[ And Henry's future wife hasn't even arrived yet! ]

Shit... [From what Lup knows, some people in this place are lucky enough to find one or two of their friends or family in this place. She'd thought she'd been one of the lucky ones to see three familiar faces in this place. But that's quite a bit more. Damn.]

You really are well taken care of then. Good on you, sis.

I know I'm lucky. I wish everyone here could have half of what I do.

[ She means that, sincerely and honestly. She doesn't know what she's ever done to deserve this but she tries to keep in mind that she shouldn't really be asking for more. ]

And how long have you been here in Wonderland?

[Lup doesn't know this woman very well, but the aura she gives off makes the elf believe her. She's sweet and genuine in a way that very few could ever pull off so well.]

Sure would make it easier for most folks. Though it's the kids wanderin' around without any family that really hits home hard.

[Even with her own childhood devoid of any adults, it still tugs at the woman's heart to see it happen to other kids. At least she had her brother. Some of them have no one at all.]

Six months or so? I should probably keep a calender or something. Time feels like it's flyin' by.

[ Snow frowns, though she's in agreement. ]

It makes me glad my daughter's an adult.

[ But at the six-month note, she hums and nods a little. ]

I think I've been here about three or so months and I feel the same way. I'm not sure if it's necessarily a bad thing, though. Maybe it could go either way.

How old is that for humans? Thirty? Forty? I can never remember.

Might not be necessarily bad but-- [This is a party. This is not a party topic. But Lup's long ears droop low, her voice softening to a murmur shared just between the two of them. It's been on her mind lately. It's hard to shake.] There's folks who've been here for years. Three years, four years, six years. It's... I don't wanna blink my eyes an've been here for that long, y'know?

Traditionally and legally, sixteen or eighteen, depending on what realm you're from. But honestly? When I talk about my daughter though, she's only an adult because she's the same age as me and if I'm an adult, I suppose she has to be considered one, too.

[ But it's that old parent thing of 'always my baby.' Emma will always be Snow's baby girl, so tiny and new and then just gone. But, because time was frozen for so long, it lingers and feels recent and raw sometimes. Not that she dwells on it. ]

My step-mother and grandson have both been here for years, too. I can't imagine being away from home that long, knowing what's to come, being without my husband. I'm not sure I want to find myself here that long, either.

[Same...Age. At first, the sentence just leaves the elf's brows arching in confusion, her mouth parting to say something, yet nothing comes out.

But then, after a moment's consideration, it suddenly makes sense. Folks end up here from different places on the timeline all of the time, don't they? How fucking odd it must be to have a daughter suddenly your own age. Lup, of course, doesn't know the half of it.]

I totally get the missing hubby part. It's a major downer, ain't it? At least I've heard that shit back home doesn't move while we're here. It like, uh, freezes, I guess? Gets the big, ol' pause button hit? Somethin' like that. It's not a perfect solution, but it's something.

[ Sure!! Let's go with that. It's easier for everyone. ]

Oh, are you married? Time not moving is all well and good, but I've been through that without him before, I'd rather not go through it again.

[ She wants her husband here with her. She could want to leave, but she doesn't want that when her daughter and grandson are both here. They need her, and she needs Charming. Sounds like David is going to have to suck it up and show up. ]

Basically.

[Calling Barry her boyfriend after fifty years of being together just seems odd. So hubby it is.]

I get it. I really do. Hopefully he'll follow you here, then. And let's be honest, Wonderland or not, I bet he'd probs just want to be here with you anyway.

[ Snow can't help but smile, because he would. She knows that if he knew, David would come here any way he possibly could. Raising her glass in a toast to Lup, she smiles. ]
