Summary: A catch-all for the Kyln / Sierra Madre event!
The Story:

For the duration of this event, the entire mansion will be part space jail, part apocalyptic wasteland desert with an abandoned hotel/casino. On the third day an escape route not previously discovered in the Kyln appears and breakouts can be planned...

...Only for everyone to find themselves walking through a large glass prison toward the toxic gas filled wasteland of a desert, the Sierra Madre. Does the prison look better than the toxic cloud outside? If you're stuck in the prison after dark beyond day 3, you'll be forced into and locked in your cell for the night. But at least locked away, nothing from the outside can hurt you. If you try to brave the actual elements in the desert it might be a little hard to breathe. The air has pockets of toxic gas and even a few seconds of exposure could prove deadly. And watch out for the Ghost People.

Inside the abandoned hotel/casino you'll find shelter from the gas and ghosts, but beware the holograms that are 50/50 with their attitude. Prison beatings, a beating from the holograms, which one Would You Rather? And whatever you do, don't try on the collars lying around unless you like to explode. Literally.

I- I suppose, if it is a case of self-defense, and there is absolutely no other alternative... [He's then quick to clarify.] No, I bear no such intent! I swear that I do not wish harm on anybody at all!

Then I dinna ken we will have a problem at all. (a beat, then two. ) I'm Jamie Fraser. What's your name?

[moraloutrage]

My name is Kiyotaka Ishimaru! [He snaps into a salute!] Despite these circumstances, I am quite pleased to meet you! Let's do our best as we serve our time here!

[sawny]

Aye, it's best to try and put our heads down and do this time as quickly and as easily as we can.

( His name is unusual and Jamie, having an ear for languages, cocks his head a bit. )

Do ye happen to be from the far East? I've never traveled there but I had a companion, Yi-Tien Cho, who was from Imperial China.

[moraloutrage]

Ah... I suppose that is one way of putting it! [He says with a nervous laugh.]

My home happens to even further east of China! I hail from a proud island nation known as Japan!

( Jamie hasn't been to Japan, obviously, but if it lay to the east of China, it was very far away from Scotland and the new world indeed. He wonders if he'll ever manage to travel that far away. It's possible - he's come all the way to this place, after all. )

What's it like in Japan, then? Different from here?

[moraloutrage]

It's quite different indeed! Both from this prison and Wonderland as it usually is. For one, we don't all live in one mansion! [He says a laugh, as if it is a grand joke.]

I try to lead a disciplined life in the city and work hard to be a valuable part of the education system and society in general!

[sawny]

( Jamie laughs softly. He's definitely enthusiastic about where he's from, for better or worse. It's nice to see in a place as dismal as prison. )

We dinna all live in one mansion in Scotland either. It's strange to live the way we do here, all shoulder to shoulder together. What do you study, then?

[moraloutrage]

Ah, Scotland! How interesting! [He goes on passionately.] I try to study every subject that I can! From the core subjects to anything else that seems to be of educational merit! History, mathematics, reading comprehension, social studies, you name it!

[sawny]

I always had an ear for languages. I know a little Mandarin, which my friend from the east spoke, but I dinna ken any Japanese.

( Jamie gives Kiyotaka a hopeful look. )

Do ye think you might be able to teach me any Japanese while we're stuck here? I could teach ye Gaelic in exchange.

[moraloutrage]

Is that so? How impressive! I know that could stand to broaden my horizons when it comes to learning other languages. The only foreign language I have studied is English!

[He raises a fist dramatically.]

I would be honored to learn your language! I gladly accept the terms of this trade!

[sawny]

( Jamie enjoys just how enthusiastic this man is even if prison is hardly a place to be excited about much of anything. He lifts his own fist, mirroring Kiyotaka. )

Then we can start whenever ye like. Not like there's a shortage of time in a place like this.

[Well, finding some type of education to take part in within this prison means a lot to Ishimaru! And it'll help this event to pass faster. So he's eager to respond!]
