+ The Universe is under no obligation to make sense to You +
Who: EVERYONE!
Where: EVERYWHERE!
When: Saturday, May 19th - Wednesday, May 23rd.
Rating: PG-13, warn if you're gonna go higher!
Summary: A catch-all for the Kyln / Sierra Madre event!
The Story:
For the duration of this event, the entire mansion will be part space jail, part apocalyptic wasteland desert with an abandoned hotel/casino. On the third day an escape route not previously discovered in the Kyln appears and breakouts can be planned...
...Only for everyone to find themselves walking through a large glass prison toward the toxic gas filled wasteland of a desert, the Sierra Madre. Does the prison look better than the toxic cloud outside? If you're stuck in the prison after dark beyond day 3, you'll be forced into and locked in your cell for the night. But at least locked away, nothing from the outside can hurt you. If you try to brave the actual elements in the desert it might be a little hard to breathe. The air has pockets of toxic gas and even a few seconds of exposure could prove deadly. And watch out for the Ghost People.
Inside the abandoned hotel/casino you'll find shelter from the gas and ghosts, but beware the holograms that are 50/50 with their attitude. Prison beatings, a beating from the holograms, which one Would You Rather? And whatever you do, don't try on the collars lying around unless you like to explode. Literally.
[ This is a catch-all for all your prison/desert needs! Please mark your threads clearly in the subject line with your character's name and either a cell number or just a location if you didn't feel like randomizing it or you're making a top level for a public place (like the dining hall or wandering the hotel/casino). Here's the plot post if you need it!
Have fun! ]

Don't, Ella. Your heart? It's too good, I don't want you to know what that darkness feels like, I don't want you to know it. Please?
[ His voice is quiet, and he brings one hand around her waist, resting on his hip. ]
I don't want you to do this. Lucy wouldn't want you to do this.
no subject
You’re right, you’re not worth it.
no subject
Great. Glad we're on the same page.
[Her tone is dry, but not as forcefully sarcastic as it could have been. But now that she's managed to temporarily bargain for her life, she has no idea what to do. Her eyes just keep darting between the three of them, almost as though she's waiting for the other shoe to drop.]
no subject
You might not want to wander. You know we won’t kill you, but Regina? Regina’s a wild card, with or without magic. She really won’t care, so being behind bars? That might be your best bet.
no subject
Let her do what she wants. It's gotten her this far in life, right? Not listening to the people who want to try and remotely help her? Seems like she's great at decision making, let her decide what she wants to do here, Snow. I have other things to worry about.
[ Like his wife, and why they're in prison and what might try to kill them. ]
no subject
While she appreciates Snow making it seem like she's looking out for her, it's probably more for Regina's benefit than hers.]
Don't worry. I know how she is with a bat. I'll be sure to stay out of swinging range.
[And then she's going to try to push out the door again to see if it will let her out. Knowing her luck, it probably won't. This is prison, after all.]
no subject
Why?
[ Now that she’s asked it she realizes that she’s always wanted to know. ]
Why? We were sisters. We loved each other once. What happened, what changed that make you hate me so much? That you would keep trying to take away my happiness.
no subject
It wasn't really about you.
[Because nothing is, really. Ella was collateral damage in her quest for her mother's love, something she never really understood why she was denied, and then by the time the curse came around, she didn't care who got hurt so long as Victoria suffered.
And a curse needs heroes to break it. There was no way that Ella and Henry weren't going to be swept up in its wake, but she thought, at the time, that this would at least keep the curse being broken from being considered a win.
She would always win. But in the end, she lost, she lost long before she ever decided to cast the curse.]
After Ana, she made it pretty clear that I couldn't have both. And by the time I forced Regina to cast the curse ... I just didn't care.
no subject
[ Adult Henry Mills says bad words now, everyone deal with it. ]
You had family right there all along. Regina wanted to help you, to take you in, you had a chance. Why didn't you take it? Did Gothel really do so much for you that you couldn't see what was right in front of you?
no subject
[She knows what Regina was trying to protect her from, now, she understands it in a way that she didn't before, couldn't have before, but Drizella knew her mother at the same time. She knew Rapunzel wouldn't stop until she got what she wanted and Drizella wasn't going to let it come at the cost of her.]
And I thought ...
[Her voice breaks for a moment, composure cracking under the pressure, so she stops and breathes, and tries not to seem like she's falling apart, but she's been having to play it cool for six months and confined spaces plus her being on the defensive is making that harder than it should be.]
... I did think Gothel actually cared about me. I thought that she loved me. But it turns out that I was nothing to her. I was just a means for her to get to Ana, just like my mother, and once she took the only thing I had left she threw me away like I was garbage, so yes. I'm aware that my excuses are shitty, Henry. I'm not trying to get around that. You're the ones who wanted to know why, so I guess it sucks my desperation isn't good enough for you.
[She slumps back again, burying her face in her hands for a moment as she tries to pull herself back together again.]
no subject
She wished she had reached out to her, but they had been children, each dealing with their own grief. ]
What about everything you said here? About me being all you had, you pushed me towards Henry when I was confused, you knew this would happen, that we would find out. None of that was in your best interests.
no subject
[She holds out her hands in front of her, useless as far as magic is concerned.]
It's not like I could cure him. Gothel took my magic and gave it to Ana, and if I had gone to Regina or Emma they would have set me on fire, and I didn't know if I could even get the ingredients to begin with so ... I figured at least here, Henry would come back and the curse would be broken.
[A deep breath.]
I don't know how I'm going to fix this back home. The last thing I remember is Gothel throwing me to the bottom of a frigging well, so right now I can't help you or Ana or Lucy but ... Regina's awake. And she left to go find Kelly so soon Zelena probably will be too. If anyone can figure it out, it's them.
[... Oops has no one mentioned what happened to Lucy, this is gonna go well ...]
no subject
What. Did you do. To my daughter?
[ He's terrified, honestly. He can't lose Lucy, and he reaches blindly for Ella's hand but somehow manages to grab onto her. ]
no subject
(Okay, it's sort of her fault, but she didn't actively do it. At the same time, Rumplestiltskin was the one who let her mother out of jail in the first place.)]
Not me. My mother. Rapunzel stole her belief to bring my sister back to life.
[She glances back to Ella for a moment and then back to Henry again.]
Lucy's in a coma.
no subject
She sacrificed Lucy- her granddaughter for Ana? [ She’s not sure why this is surprising, her step-mother is evil. ]
What- Henry. [ Yeah, that’s full blown panic. ]
no subject
We won't let anything happen to her. We'll wake her up, Ella, I swear.
[ But his own voice is breaking and he presses his forehead to his wife's, the fear and grief very palpable in the room. They're two parents joined in the fear that their child might die, and never in his life has Henry wanted to be somewhere else so badly, back to a time and place where he stopped all of this to begin with, where Drizella and Gothel never even had a chance to make this curse happen. He doesn't even have the right to make promises to his wife, but if he has to die at home to keep that from happening, then it is what it is, and he'd gladly trade his life for Lucy's. ]
no subject
Now, all she can do is turn to Drizella. ]
Your life must be filled with such incredible loneliness that your only joy was going to come from destroying everyone else's happiness. It's so sad, Drizella, because despite what you thought, it was never going to make you happy. It hasn't, has it? All of this is only going to leave a giant hole in your heart.
[ And with that she's done, standing between her and Henry and Ella. She doesn't get to watch this, to see how the two of them try to put the pieces of their hearts back together after finding out their family might be forever changed. ]
no subject
She slips out into the prison, and tries to give them as much space as she can. She has no idea what she's going to do next, but right now it feels the least she can do is stay out of their way.]
