Summary: A catch-all for the Kyln / Sierra Madre event!
The Story:

For the duration of this event, the entire mansion will be part space jail, part apocalyptic wasteland desert with an abandoned hotel/casino. On the third day an escape route not previously discovered in the Kyln appears and breakouts can be planned...

...Only for everyone to find themselves walking through a large glass prison toward the toxic gas filled wasteland of a desert, the Sierra Madre. Does the prison look better than the toxic cloud outside? If you're stuck in the prison after dark beyond day 3, you'll be forced into and locked in your cell for the night. But at least locked away, nothing from the outside can hurt you. If you try to brave the actual elements in the desert it might be a little hard to breathe. The air has pockets of toxic gas and even a few seconds of exposure could prove deadly. And watch out for the Ghost People.

Inside the abandoned hotel/casino you'll find shelter from the gas and ghosts, but beware the holograms that are 50/50 with their attitude. Prison beatings, a beating from the holograms, which one Would You Rather? And whatever you do, don't try on the collars lying around unless you like to explode. Literally.

[There are no books here, which is enough to make Sunburst pretty damn sick of everything already. The lack of magic is worse, though. It's making him tired, and he hates it. He doesn't look up from where he's trying to preform some sleight-of-hoof with a spork, but he considers Georgia a friend, so he'll at least offer a dry warning. ]

If you keep doing that, they're gonna throw something at you. They're already squinting at you.

[But she does get down for the moment, though she's still craning her neck, looking around.]

Have you seen Shaun?

I don't doubt that for a second, but best not invite trouble, hmm?

[He frowns, shaking his head.]

[Her shoulders slump for a moment before she straightens.]

Well, I'm sure he'll be looking for me as hard as I'm looking for him. We'll find each other.

Well, it's a small prison, right? Sort of. We could always ask if anyone's seen him. They're putting us all in different cells, it stands to reason he's rooming with someone here.

Unless they've stuck him in solitary. [He is trouble on a good day. She shakes her head.] It's just a few days. That's the only good thing about these events: they end.

True, they always have an end. Though I can understand why you'd be worried about him.

Do you think we'd be able to check?

We seem to have some freedom of motion, at least for the moment. It seems likely.

Well, if you want company, I can do that, look for him with you. I don't have any-uh magic right now, so I don't know how much help I'd actually be. But I could always be an extra set of eyes.

That's fine, I don't particularly like magic anyway.

[Though if it reunited her with Shaun faster she might change her mind.]

But the extra eyes certainly won't hurt.

No offense. I'm sure it's very important and real in your world, [since he's a unicorn in a wizard cape] but where I'm from, it doesn't exist.

[And she doesn't want it to exist. It's too illogical for her to stand.]

Of course, he'll likely be moving around as well, trying to find me. [She frowns.] Maybe staying put is better.

Hmmm, there is always that. How about one of us stay put and the other move around? Then we'd have the best of both worlds.

I just wish there were a way to keep in better contact. [She grimaces.] But if there were, we wouldn't be having this issue to begin with. I could just text him.

I take it you're not used to being without your technology?

[Because in Equestria, if you wanna send a message, you gotta send a letter or a little bird. ]

But it's ok, the old fashioned way works just as well.

Well, yes. It does attract attention. Or just, you know, asking other people. To their faces.

That's… really not a popular sort of communication where I'm from.

[If it's not someone you know well, you might miss the subtle off behavior that might indicate they're amplifying. Better to keep a lot of distance and a screen between you and them if you can manage it.]

Well, I guess I have the advantage that most of the ponies I talk to don't want to eat my face. That's always a bonus.

Understandable, given your situation. It's a habit formed out of survival. That's not easy to kick.

That and it's the society in which we were raised. It's like me telling you, well, that you should walk on two legs because that's how it is where I'm from.

[It's not a perfect analogy, but she doesn't know enough about unicorn culture to give a perfect analogy.]

It must be hard, I can't imagine you ever really relax either- even if you know you're relatively safe.
