+ The Universe is under no obligation to make sense to You +
Who: EVERYONE!
Where: EVERYWHERE!
When: Saturday, May 19th - Wednesday, May 23rd.
Rating: PG-13, warn if you're gonna go higher!
Summary: A catch-all for the Kyln / Sierra Madre event!
The Story:
For the duration of this event, the entire mansion will be part space jail, part apocalyptic wasteland desert with an abandoned hotel/casino. On the third day an escape route not previously discovered in the Kyln appears and breakouts can be planned...
...Only for everyone to find themselves walking through a large glass prison toward the toxic gas filled wasteland of a desert, the Sierra Madre. Does the prison look better than the toxic cloud outside? If you're stuck in the prison after dark beyond day 3, you'll be forced into and locked in your cell for the night. But at least locked away, nothing from the outside can hurt you. If you try to brave the actual elements in the desert it might be a little hard to breathe. The air has pockets of toxic gas and even a few seconds of exposure could prove deadly. And watch out for the Ghost People.
Inside the abandoned hotel/casino you'll find shelter from the gas and ghosts, but beware the holograms that are 50/50 with their attitude. Prison beatings, a beating from the holograms, which one Would You Rather? And whatever you do, don't try on the collars lying around unless you like to explode. Literally.
[ This is a catch-all for all your prison/desert needs! Please mark your threads clearly in the subject line with your character's name and either a cell number or just a location if you didn't feel like randomizing it or you're making a top level for a public place (like the dining hall or wandering the hotel/casino). Here's the plot post if you need it!
Have fun! ]

[She says with a bit of bitterness under the general defeat, hooking a hand around her opposite arm defensively. That is to say, it's not the straight-up physically dangerous kind. The guards could definitely cause some damage, but since they have to be provoked, the whole setup seems more like a test of how long everyone can go without getting themselves tased.]

[Unfortunately. Minato wasn't sure what else could happen now that they were all stuck in prison for things they didn't do.]
But it should be over soon. Everyone in your cell is okay with you?

[Frankly, Lapis hasn't spared a single thought for getting along with her cellmates, and was unprepared for this question; if she weren't so busy being rattled in general she might even seem confused by it. In reality, she does kinda know Wirt from the network, but they've talked like twice or something, that's not important.]

[That was the important part. He worried about her since her time here in Wonderland hadn't been going so well lately. This event didn't help either. And she didn't have her powers either.]
no subject
Believe it or not, it hadn't occurred to me yet to worry about getting attacked by the people I'm in prison with.
[It's almost funny, since of course she actually is enough of a pessimist that she probably could have come up with that way for things to go horribly wrong, given enough time and motivation. But really she got a cell full of people who pretty much keep to themselves, which means she fits in.]
no subject
[Minato hadn't meant to scare her or anything. So far everyone in his own cell was fine too. He wasn't worried, but he should have been for her.]
The event should be over soon. Hang in there.

[Dryly, even if she can't quite manage actual humor, she adds:]
Guess I was wrong about getting an easy one.
no subject
Me too. It's not your fault though. After it's over, we can go back to wishing for an easier one.
[At least there'd be time to recover from this one while they did. Not exactly comforting and could lead to disappointment again, but he'd rather be a little optimistic.]
no subject
After this... it probably won't be another event.
[It is, after all, almost time for war. What a thing to get out of prison for.]
no subject
It's okay too to worry. But you don't have to worry alone.
[Or have to feel or do anything alone if she didn't want to.]
