Right? Anyone can make a scary image pop up suddenly and some loud, shrieky noise go with it. Like, are we making screamer videos into movies now? Ugh!

[ She steps a bit closer to the barrier. ] It's probably why I like horror novels a lot more, especially ones that start out normal but then get ever so slightly off. The experience is drawn out so much longer and the author has to rely on skill rather than feeding off of human instincts. Things slowly fall apart and you're left with this intense dread, scared of having to turn the page because you don't know what's coming next...

[ There's a pause. ]

U-Um, sorry! Maybe this isn't the best time to be blathering on about books. It is kind of a nice distraction, though.
