🕷 Action (Closed)
Who: Peter Parker and Steve Rogers
Where: The corridor leading to Tony' room (... and Cap's room)
When: July
Rating: PG-13 (mild swears maybe)
Summary: How have Peter and Steve not met up yet? Pete's on his way to Tony's room when wild Steve Rogers draws near.
The Story:
[Peter is holding on to Tony's door-handle, but he hasn't actually opened it yet. He's been this way for ten seconds or so, and thank goodness he hasn't actually knocked because in the end he decides there's no real point in being here. He has nothing new to report, he hasn't made any progress, and really he'd just be wasting Mr. Stark's time. The walk back to his own room isn't far, but all the same, he doesn't make it. A few metallic noises, a creaking door, and glancing over his shoulder Peter sees the unmistakable shape of Steve Rogers.
Now he's half-way up the wall. Why did he do that? How did he get there? Does Mr. Rogers know that he's Spider-Man? Crap. Peter keeps climbing until he figured he's high enough that it's improbable that Cap would see him unless he actually had a reason to look up. Maybe, maybe once Steve gets going he can drop down and act like he's been walking normally down the corridor this whole time, and say hi. That sounds... easy. Yeah. How hard could that be?]

The rustle of clothing is what catches his attention and he looks up, making eye contact with Peter. Tony had told him Spider-man was there but not who Spider-man was....this seemed to answer that question.
There's a raised eyebrow but also the beginnings of an amused smile on his lips. ]
I don't have a shield for you to steal this time.

What follows is the sad sound of two light feet gently hitting the floor of the corridor, the slight bend and bounce of knees. Peter gives an awkward and somewhat panicked smile in answer to the big guy's amused one.]
You know technically? Since you got it back? I only borrowed it.
[What should he be doing with his hands? Arrghhh.]

I think I can let it go, on a technicality and all. Since you’re a fellow New Yorker.
[ He sticks out his hand for a shake. ]
Since we never actually had time for introductions, I’m Steve.
no subject
Steve? [a beat, and then] Are we on first-name terms?
[Well, not yet. He hasn't given his own name. Caught up in the excitement of the moment, he doesn't seem to notice.]
no subject
He huffs out an amused laugh. ]
Unless you want to walk around calling me Rogers. [ Or Captain America but that’s a mouth full also he’s not sure he’s actually that anymore...] Just don’t call me late for dinner.
[ And Steve tells lame jokes. ]
no subject
It's usually the whole thing, you know? Steve Rogers. That's how it is in the books. I think it's a respect thing, like Abe Lincoln or Chuck Norris.
no subject
The martial arts guy?
[ Sam tried to explain it once, he still doesn’t get it. ]
no subject
[That's just about all Peter knows about Chuck Norris. Only what the memes have taught him. He's certainly never actually seen an episode of Walker, Texas Ranger.]
no subject
[ Steve was led to believe he was much cooler than that. ]
no subject
[Peter shrugs.]
Hey, have you talked to Mr. Stark? You must have run into him.
[Since he lives right across the hall. Gesture gesture.]
no subject
Yeah, uh, I showed up in his lab. Ran right into him as soon as I got here.
[ because Wonderland seems to think it has a sense of humor. ]

[Wishful thinking? It was probably just as likely that they were living so close together as some sort of stubborn cold-war power-play.]
