Food and Fun - OPEN Gathering!
Who: Everyone!
Where: Outside on the grounds, near the gardens
When: Saturday, August 11th
Rating: G! If you take it to an extreme sexy or extreme sad place, please warn in the subject line!
Summary: Liv and Papyrus host Wonderland's Inagural Inter-planetary Fod Festival!
The Story:

The stage has been set for everyone to have food from all over time and space, and Liv is possibly a little more excited about this than she should be. Her message with Papyrus didn't seem to drum up a ton of interest when they made their announcement, but she's hoping like hell this actually goes somewhere.
There's a table with Sharpie pens and little cards to write the name of the dish, main ingredients, and where it came from (plus the bringer's dish if they want) and three huge coolers filled with ice and various drinks like bottled water, juice boxes, soda, and beer for the adults (that one's labeled on top). Cutlury, napkins, and cups are taken care of! There's also music playing, the equivalent to what might as well be a random Pandora station not set on one specific genre of music. It easily goes from an Adele song to the Spice Girls and back around to something by Adam Lavine.
All that's really left, is for Liv to sit back and enjoy the day.
[ OOC: This is, obviously, a gathering post! Please top level, tag around, and have fun! ]

"That's ridiculous. You can't swing a stick without hitting a magic-user in Wildemount. Where the hell would they hide?" It's hard to imagine a place with magic where the wizards and such weren't a little bit thick on the ground. "You can barely do anything decent without a little bit of magic."
no subject
Making a face, she shakes her head. "Now, it's not all of them. Just enough you don't take the chance. I learned that the hard way,' she admits.
Her face lights up a bit like that. "Wildemount sounds like a great place. "And I agree with that, about doing things without magic. None of it's decent without."
no subject
"Second of all, magic-users are revered, for some definition of the word. People are excited to have a wizard on their side or know a wizard or... someone who performs magic. Your world sounds daft. And your lot are clearly unappreciated and meant for better things."
All of this said with pointed stabs with his spoon.
no subject
Though she can't help but smile at that, a wistful look on her face. "That would be amazing to know. I was just glad to find others like myself who I could try and be at home with. Thank you," she manages, her voice cracking a bit. "I just... Just hearin' someone saying that is so great. Thank you."
Because just having someone who wasn't one of them hiding as they were made her so happy she isn't even sure of words to express that.

That... Might not be accurate, but who is gonna correct him? The tiefling genealogy police? Anyway, that's not important. This girl has clearly had her day made by his casual bullshitting (that isn't even bullshit- people do love having wizards around), and with one hand still holding onto his bowl, he drapes an arm around her shoulders.
"There's a fine art to making deserving people feel good about themselves, and I'd like to think I'm a master of it."
no subject
"Taint?" Her nose wrinkles, making a face. "Now, I don't like that word. It's what people think of the witches. That their ancestors who were part of the witches hunt tainted their blood lines. Nope, don't like that word at all."
And she will not accept it. Not about him. Not about herself.
Smiling a bit steadier at that casual touch, thinking about how hard she's worked to find those who she could connect with, feel able to share with, and who knew she would find that in Wonderland, of all places. Even if she is still skittish about many around here, and what all of them mean to this place. Yet Molly is different, and in that Misty can feel a connection.
They may all have been brought together, and in that they're the same, but not all of them exist in the same ways she's already noticed. Or maybe it's a line she's drawn in her mind, a woman caught between Hell and reliving her life and how she claims that in Wonderland.
"You are brilliant at it. I suspect it's something needed in this place by many."

He has to release her shoulder so he can go back to eating though there's a brief moment where he wonders if he can pull it off before... No. He can't. So he pulls back, politely. and returns to his meal.
"They're miserable, aren't they? Almost every one of them. It's like they've never been presented with a good time since they arrived here."
no subject
Grinning as he moves away, if only because she understands. This place is about them finding food, enjoying it and delighting in it, even if they're using that time to talk about the things they've been through.
"Most people are. They'd rather accuse and attack instead of just acceptin' people for what they are. There's a lot of people I don't like, but that doesn't mean I'm going to attack them or light them on fire or anything like that. Though if everything is waiting and we come back from the dead, why not just have a good time of it?"
Says the woman that keeps to herself in the woods because of her nervousness of being around others after being in Hell for so long.
no subject
So there's that. He is spectacularly unbothered and expects that other people will learn to be too or suffer too many of the disappointments of life.
"You've actually met people you don't like?" Molly chuckles. "I think they're all funny, myself. A little sad, a little ornery, but adorable in how sullen and pissy they are for the most part."
no subject
Though at that question, one brow arches. She actually shrugs. "It's hard to like those that burn you alive at the stake," she points out. "I didn't seek revenge on them, though many seem to believe I should have, but I refuse to like them. It hurt."
no subject
He'll avoid recounting Trostenwald- obviously that's a truth, where he can make up lies. And he has a good one for that. "My parents, gods bless them, said to me when I was wee- they said, 'Mollymauk, my love, you can be hateful and rude and vengeful to people who hurt you, or you can just keep smiling, 'cause the best revenge you'll ever get is showing the awful people in the world your teeth in a way they can't twist to fit their narrative.'"
no subject
Misty chuckles at that, nodding. "That's good advice. I let them live as they were... and with the worries that eventually the law would seek them out since they were the last ones to see me alive," she adds, having gotten a bit of comfort from it all. Just in her own way.

Like a androgynous horned fortune cookie in a technicolor dream coat, this one.
no subject
"I love how you look at the world. Not everyone has that way about them. I know I don't always, though I try."
no subject
Obviously, given the way she's described things. "But keep trying. It's worth it. Makes everything that much better for you and the people around you."
no subject
"Now though, now I can only try and find it here. Where most seem a lot different than they do in other worlds. Maybe it's just what I've seen though."
no subject
Like the kind of world Molly would like to see, but also one enclosed in a gilded cage. It's a honey trap of some kind, one he can't get too complacent about.

He plants a fast kiss on the side of her head, and then skips off to another booth like an eager kid.
