Food and Fun - OPEN Gathering!

Who: Everyone!
Where: Outside on the grounds, near the gardens
When: Saturday, August 11th
Rating: G! If you take it to an extreme sexy or extreme sad place, please warn in the subject line!
Summary: Liv and Papyrus host Wonderland's Inagural Inter-planetary Fod Festival!
The Story:

The stage has been set for everyone to have food from all over time and space, and Liv is possibly a little more excited about this than she should be. Her message with Papyrus didn't seem to drum up a ton of interest when they made their announcement, but she's hoping like hell this actually goes somewhere.

There's a table with Sharpie pens and little cards to write the name of the dish, main ingredients, and where it came from (plus the bringer's dish if they want) and three huge coolers filled with ice and various drinks like bottled water, juice boxes, soda, and beer for the adults (that one's labeled on top). Cutlury, napkins, and cups are taken care of! There's also music playing, the equivalent to what might as well be a random Pandora station not set on one specific genre of music. It easily goes from an Adele song to the Spice Girls and back around to something by Adam Lavine.

All that's really left, is for Liv to sit back and enjoy the day.

[ OOC: This is, obviously, a gathering post! Please top level, tag around, and have fun! ]

Maybe. [ that sounds plausible. he can't speak for everyone, but he's got some pretty powerful memories swirling around in his head. he rubs his eyes as he sighs heavily ] Christ, I don't even know what I'd do with the information even if we did have answers.

Sounds like there's a few folks like you who wouldn't mind sticking around here for a while. [ can't say he agrees but snow helped him see the appeal, at least a little ]

Punishment or salvation...

I suspect if they found the truth, most of them would work on getting what they want. Those missing home, and those that wish they were able to stay here forever.

[Even as she speaks, she holds the hem of her shawl tightly, hands about one another before her so that the strands cut into her skin. She doesn't seem to notice, though, trying not to let a single presence upset her that much.]

I'm one of those folks. I know this is salvation, because I've already dealt with the other side of things. This is what saved me from it.

People're selfish. Of course they'd work on getting what they want if they knew how.

[ whether it's people like her, who would like to stay in wonderland for however long they can manage it, or people like him, who have no interest in being here any longer than they have to be. not like he's got himself the greatest situation to go back to or anything ]

This may look like salvation now, but how do you know it won't just end up getting worse here than whatever it is that you left behind at home?

That isn't selfish. It is human nature. You make it sound like there's something wrong with not returning to horrible things, or fighting to get back to their families. There's no right or wrong in that, no selfishness.

[A word she's heard, had used against her, just like so many others before even gasoline was splashed upon her.

When she speaks though, her entire body shakes, voice trembling as she takes a step back from him.]

Because before I came here, I was trapped in Hell due to being too weak to return. Because I've been burned at the stake for who I am there, but here everyone... almost everyone is fine with it, and thinks I should be free to be who I want. Why would I ever want to return to that?
