fear makes you stupid; ota
Who: Michonne + You
Where: Around the mansion
When: First half of September
Rating: PG-13 for language maybe.
Summary: None of this is sitting well with Michonne.
The Story:
[ For a little while now, Michonne's katana has been sitting on a shelf in the room she shares with Regina. They haven't had an event in a while now that tried to kill them, and so there it sat. Maybe the events have been murderless because now they're going to start killing each other.
She doesn't know what to believe, but she knows the katana has to come out of its short retirement and she can't sit quietly, so now before she leaves it gets put in its place on her back, comfortable hanging against her upper hip. She resumes her quiet patrols of the grounds and inside, going up to the roof first and surveying the land from all sides before making her way down, floor by floor, walking until the rooms go unoccupied before finding the stairs and going to the next. She moves unhurried, taking in what there is to take in, making note of who's where. She circles through tea rooms and both gyms, then sits in the foyer of the mansion quietly, earbuds in, device in hand, not really listening to anything but rather waiting to see what people talk about when they think no one can hear them.
Then, Michonne makes her way outside, patrolling around the woods, the lake, the beach and in the end, making her way through the gardens before finding herself standing on the front steps looking out.
She does this every day. Will it make a difference? Who knows. Maybe she sees or hears something and maybe she doesn't. But at least she's not sitting still. ]
((ooc: find michonne anywhere in the mansion and it should be fine! lmk on plurk at
propernice if you'd like a specific starter!))

Forest
Currently she is working on her own personal project. Armed with a can of spray paint and yellow caution tape, she is exploring the edges of the woods, as far out as she can get before she begins to get drowsy and marking the trees and shrubs with both. Not only marking boundaries for herself, but for any others that wander out this way.
She also carries a small book, marking it in steps and on a map she is making so that in case the markers disappear.
Pausing, she cants her head, hearing a sound.]
Hello? Is someone there?
no subject
Just me.
You been alone out here?
no subject
[Just bright and friendly as if she isn't out pushing herself to the brink of passing out due to Wonderland magic or anything like that.]
I stay out in the woods a lot. I go up to the house some, and even set up a room like everyone told me I should, but I like it out here. [She pats the trunk of a tree as she says it.] Even if that magic for the rooms is pretty nice. Handy too.

[ Michonne frowns just a little, not wanting to scare her but feeling like she should know what's going on, if she doesn't already. ]
You read your device lately?

[The first time, he thought she was just taking a walk, so he didn't bother her. The second time felt like a coincidence. The third time, though, he realized that she was on a path, exactly the same as the last two times he saw her. This was some kind of ritual. She was making a job out of it.]
[Jean was out on the horse-path with Fritz. He held the young gelding back for a second, just to watch her, before he decided to break their usual routine and canter up. Fritz seemed a tad nervous around Michonne, and halted with some personal space still between them, but at a comfortable speaking distance.]
Just what are you on the patrol for here, Michonne? [Because that was sure what it looked like. Fritz stamped the ground, and Jean gave him a reassuring pat on the neck.] This is the third time this week I've seen you take this go-around. What's up?
no subject
Someone was murdered, that's what.
[ It could come across as 'duh at the end, but it doesn't with her; for as small as Wonderland can feel, not everyone's glued to devices. Or, not everyone's from a place where one murder usually lets to many, many more. ]
no subject
[Jean was not one of those people. He only looked now and then, and not with his full attention. But murder still gave him pause, especially in a place where death was quickly reversed.]
Any idea of who the culprit might be? 'Takes a special kind of maniac to kill someone just for sport.

she finds michonne patrolling the area with her katana. ]
I guess everyone is a little more on edge now, huh?
no subject
[ It's meant as a macabre joke, though there's no smile that goes with it. ]
This is fucked.
no subject
[it definitely has put wynonna more on edge -- she knew she had become complacent here in some ways, but now it seems that much worse -- if they don't figure out who's doing this, more people could end up hurt, or dead.]
It's totally fucked -- and just when things were seeming less shitty here.

But it's not often she sees someone else being so deliberate, and after spotting her inside for a moment, actually stops in the middle of her jog when she sees Michonne heading outside.]
Hey. You lookin' for somebody?
no subject
[ And if she finds that person, maybe she'll get some use out of her dormant katana. But she shakes her head, letting out a breath. ]
Just on edge, that's all.
no subject
No, no, I get it. It's... yeah. It's been a lot.
[She didn't really get involved in a lot of that-- it happened too fast for her to track what was really going on.]
Did you know her well? You don't have to to do something, I just... yeah.

This is a nice way to run into each other this time. Mix things up.
She's unwrapping her hands when she sees Michonne, inclining her head.]
In for a workout...?
no subject
Could be. More like looking out. The gym probably isn't the first place a murder suspect would go, but I've seen stupider.

Especially if it happened for no reason like she's hearing. It means someone maybe just likes to kill people.
She sits on the front steps as Michonne heads up them, and she takes one look at her and knows. )
...patrolling?

You seen anything weird? Seen anyone looks suspicious, sneakin' around?
no subject
Not really. It's the same old, same old. ...been awhile since someone was just murdered in Wonderland so you'd think something else would change around here.

The man himself appears a few seconds later, pushing a tree branch out of the way and ducking beneath another before he comes into full view. He pauses mid-step as he sees Michonne, then smiles crookedly and hooks his thumbs over his pockets.]
Hey. [His voice doesn't hold much joviality - things right now are unsettled, and he hasn't missed that.] Don't usu'lly see people out this way. Y' doin' the rounds?
no subject
Figured I might as well again. Murderers don't typically strike once and leave it at that. Studied enough cases in law school to know that much.
no subject
Thinkin' yer gonna find someone hidin' out here?
[They struck in the clinic. Committing a murder in such a public space takes either nerves or stupidity, but if one thing's for sure, Dan's damn certain it's going to make them harder to track down.]

I'm not going to harm you.
[ She wears an armor of red and blue and while she doesn't carry a sword, she does carry an old-looking shield. ]
I've seen you here last night and two nights ago, as well.
no subject
Not a big fan of someone murdering innocent women bein' out here somewhere.
[ Maybe she'll never find anyone, maybe this won't go anywhere. Hell, maybe whoever did it already went home. She doesn't know. But right now, this feels better than doing nothing. ]
no subject
[ and in many ways, it's why she's here. I know people will do all they can, she promised Claire, without saying she will do what she can, too. This side of her is still kept secret - still hidden in these dark hours o the night. ]
But there's nothing. Whoever it is - they are playing their game well.
